We found the @NowThis sock.

I see references to him, but I guess I must have missed exactly what he did. I gather it was something embarrassing.

Watching for the second time this season. The old front wheel family sleigh reminds me of our '88 Ford Taurus wagon that my brother wrecked when he was a teenager. Good times.

The look on Chase's face when he stands up and takes in Mary for the first time is gold.

"I was just smelling....smiling."

Saw it at the Bass Concert Hall with a Q&A with Chevy afterwards. He's was Biden-esque. I really wouldn't expect him to be doing this again next year.

Me too. He’s had some health issues recently and is lucky to still be alive.

Still pretty funny, though.

Looked through the entire thread, but didn't see this mentioned.  Beverly D'Angelo grabbing Chevy's junk was an ad-lib that she thought would get cut, but made it into the movie.  Her letting go to shake the hand of Mrs. Shirley and then returning her hand to Chevy's dick is just greatness:

You can also see her right nip in the bed scene where his hand gets stuck to her hair.

That shower scene in Vacation tho.

That fall in Buffalo in 2023 might have been worse than he let on. Either way it’s cool you were able to see him while he can still get out there. The movie just never gets old.

This is my favorite Christmas movie. She’s also in my 2nd favorite one, Violent Night. She was pretty humorous in that one as well.

There were some holy shit moments for me, like watching him do the Three Amigos salute, and saying "Live from New York, it's Saturday Night". He also recited the "hallelujah, holy shit. Where's the Tylenol" rant.

It was fun watching Christmas Vacation in front of a large audience like that. There were, I think, three big applause moments. 1) When Cousin Eddie first shows up, 2) That rant, and 3) Chevy's "I did it' at the end. Really cool.

That rant was probably the highlight from when I saw him in 2023 in New Jersey. I want to say I was down in Newark at a really big theatre. I remember it was really nice. Like you I remember how cool it was watching the movie with a large audience. Good memories and thank you for sharing your experience.

I want to get these for my niece and nephew to wear next year. It will mean nothing to them at their age of 7 and 4 next year, but I still will get it and have them take a picture with their Grannie. Think I will get her a shirt I’ve had before. You serious Clark? I say that every single time someone says something ridiculous to me.

The problem is when you aren’t together no one gets it. It’s already a relatively deep cut, but “I don’t know Margo” hits differently when read by itself.

That's something I noticed the other day for the first time. Their parents show up before Clark even has the lights/decorations up. That dude would have that done the day after Thanksgiving. Also, that house has no guestrooms.

You don’t “allow” parents to do anything. They just show up whenever the fuck they want to. Usually far earlier than necessary.

Watched it last night at the request of our oldest. Stayed through the end credits and saw it was also filmed in Breckenridge, Colorado so I guess that's the strange mountainous area that wouldn't exist outside of Chicago in the opening and the goofy sled scene. Also, the exterior of the Griswold home is next door to Roger Murtaugh's house in Lethal Weapon which was used as Todd and Margo's house exterior. The Warner Bros Ranch lot was torn down in 2023.

Clark and Eddie's interactions are always the funniest shit to me.  In the earlier movies, there's a sense of genuine concern on Clark's part that eventually morphs into the deadpanned, muted hatred you see in Christmas Vacation.  And it all just bounces right off Eddie.

I don’t remember Eddie’s response exactly, but it always cracks me up?

Clark: You really think it matters, Eddie?

Eddie: Well, if it gets dented my hair just act gonna part right.

I’m sure I have mentioned it upthread but my very favorite scene in the entire movie is unspoken- Clark and Eddie are grocery shopping, Clark sets a box of light bulbs on top of two giant bags of dog food, and Eddie throws another bag on top.
The combination of about six different things makes me laugh my ass off every time.
