December 25, 20213 yr Clark on the ladder when he’s trying not to fall is great. The little things he does like how he’s not sure how to grip the ladder from the front or back so he goes back and forth a few times.
December 26, 20213 yr A scene that always makes me laugh is when the neighbors get home and find the stereo destroyed and water everywhere. Just the way they say it it. "Why is the carpet all wet Todd??" "I don’t know Margo"
December 26, 20213 yr Currently watching it for the final time this year.. Press Play ”Hey Griswold…. IMG_7274.MOV Edited December 26, 20213 yr by utxmike05

November 19, 20223 yr It’s almost that time of year. I’ve never bought anything off an Instagram ad but I may have to make an exception. It’s almost that time of year. I’ve never bought anything off an Instagram ad but I may have to make an exception.

It’s almost that time of year. I’ve never bought anything off an Instagram ad but I may have to make an exception. That’s pretty cool. I am wearing one right now that has the quote about Santa finding the jolliest bunch of a holes this side of the nuthouse. I wore this to church before and the pastor laughed at it.

December 5, 20223 yr Author AMC has it on the big screen tonight. I come every year to see it since I was not able to watch it in the theatre as a kid. One of my favorite things about the holiday season is watching this movie.
December 24, 20223 yr Well I don't know what to tell you Audrey, other than it's Christmas and we're all in misery.

December 24, 20223 yr SIAP but the yuppie scum next door, Todd, was portrayed by Christopher Guest’s brother, Nicholas, so there’s that.
December 25, 20223 yr They filmed most of the movie in LA in the summer. Lots of fake snow. The opening where they get the tree was filmed in Colorado.
December 25, 20223 yr This movie has aged really, really well. Similar to A Christmas Story. All of the office scenes are gold. Yeah, I’ve been there Clark.
December 25, 20223 yr Firing it up now on hbo max. Sad to say it's been a few years since I've watched it fully. Leaving with the tree roots and all is such a good start Edited December 25, 20223 yr by Zepol87
December 25, 20223 yr You know that metal plate in my head? I had to get it replaced cause every time Catherine revved up the microwave, I'd piss my pants and forget who I was for half an hour.
December 25, 20223 yr Author I have been to all of these places. That Wal-Mart is still tiny. https://www.9news.com/article/life/holidays/holiday-guide/christmas-vacation-colorado/73-8cfdd6dd-6eed-45bb-a338-9e91808d1dea
December 25, 20223 yr Merry Christmas you filthy animals! Putting this here, as I can't find the Christmas thread. Maybe drinks.

December 25, 20222 yr One of the coolest parts of the Warner Bros tour is when they take you to back lot and you realize just how many scenes you have witnessed in all manner of movies and TV shows over the decades that those ARE the streets and houses.

I read somewhere that the director had never seen either of the other two Vacation movies.
December 25, 20222 yr I kept replaying the ladder scene in my head when I was putting up my lights this year. My neighbors were probably watching out their window waiting for me to fall.
December 26, 20222 yr What a terrible shirt. Well another Christmas is in the books and the wife and kids went to bed so I'm watching it a bit before bed enjoying the quiet. Have a happy 2023 you Griswold loving fucks.

December 26, 20222 yr I can't picture him in "Trading Places." He's not of the douchey quartet singer guys, right? I also today years old when I learned Todd is played by Christopher Guest's brother, Nicholas. Maybe he introduced Christopher to Jamie Lee Curtis on the day of the topless scene; and the rest is history.

December 8, 20232 yr Author Just left seeing it in the theater again! Time to now see Violent Night for the 2nd year in a row if it’s on Prime. Christmas Vacation is still the standard bearer for me on holiday movies though. 🎄🎄🎄🎄
December 8, 20232 yr Ruby Sue: “Him’s shittin’ bricks ‘cause he thinks he’s gonna get the shaft and Santa’s not gonna bring him nothin’.” Clark: “You shouldn’t use language like that.” Ruby Sue: “Sorry Uncle Clark—shittin’ rocks.”

December 8, 20232 yr Also, Ira from 'Suicide Kings' His best part in 'Christmas Vacation' is when he's brushing off his dad and you're watching Chevy Chase's reaction to the lights with Beverly. And he walks towards the camera and his voice gets mumbled while looking at a watch that isn't there, "Look at the time. I gotta get to bed. Brush my teeth, feed the hog, still got some homework to do. Do the laundry, wash my car, still got some bills to pay." Closely followed by "Really grandma?...a whole quarter?"

That's an homage to a gag that Chase used to do on SNL (the watch that isn't there)

He’s trying to make it into the dead pool this week https://www.yahoo.com/lifestyle/chevy-chase-80-falls-off-193613750.html Quote Chevy Chase took a tumble during a recent event, but luckily, the beloved actor didn't appear to sustain any injuries. During a National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation Q&A in Buffalo, New York, on Wednesday, Dec. 6, the actor shocked attendees—who audibly gasped—when he fell off the stage. The 80-year-old was walking across the stage when he seemingly tripped, stumbling to the ground. After being helped up, he tipped his hat to guests and took his seat for the fan event. Quote Just recently, the famed comedy franchise's star insisted he was still in optimal health, after he arrived in a wheelchair to support pal Sylvester Stalloneat the opening of his Rocky memorabilia shop in Philadelphia over the weekend. "His health is amazing and his tour, A Live Conversation With Chevy Chase, has been selling out across the country," his reps told DailyMail. "He sometimes uses the chair due to all the airport travel—even at 80 years young." Edited December 8, 20232 yr by atomheartbevo
