August 29, 20223 yr Lane Kiffin has surpassed Leach as my favorite coach who I hope never coaches at Texas.
September 30, 20223 yr He is trying an amazing experiment this year, with half his starters portal transfers getting NIL money.

November 3, 20223 yr Tell me why I shouldn't be a big Kiffin fan? The sort of personality that makes college football so much more fun than pro.
November 21, 20223 yr Ole Miss has reportedly offered Lane Kiffin a new contract Ole Miss' new contract reportedly aims to put Lane among the top 10 highest paid coaches in college football. DOUG SAMUELS NOV 17, 2022 With SEC foe Auburn with an open head coaching seat, and surely noticing the job Lane Kiffin has done at Ole Miss, the Rebels are making their move to keep him in Oxford. SportsTalk Mississippi shared that Kiffin has a received a new contract offer from Ole Miss. The report adds that the new offer would make him one of the ten highest paid coaches in college football. Lane, who currently ranks 11th in FBS head coaching compensation, would only need a pay bump of about $300k to push him into the top ten nationally in coaches pay. There has been a lot of talk the past few days about the impressive NIL collective that Auburn is putting together, and how that could be a very real bargaining chip in their attempt to bring Kiffin to The Plains. The Rebels and Lane end their season with a trip to Arkansas this week before welcoming Mike Leach and Mississippi State to town for the Egg Bowl in the season finale. Now the question becomes is the new contract attractive enough to keep Lane in Oxford, or is Auburn going to come to the table with something that will blow it out of the water?
November 21, 20223 yr If Lane doesnt take that then I think Lane took a bet a few years ago to try and be the Head Coach of at least half the SEC before he retires.

November 22, 20223 yr the SEC coaching carousel is fucking weird. these coaches all get their ass handed to them by Saban, and they sign a 4/5 year deal, and get fired after 3 years of Saban kicking their ass. then they go be an OC for a year, keep getting paid the SEC head coach big bucks, then get hired by another SEC team that just fired their retread coach. and unless Lane gets paid Jimbo Fisher contract money, hes a fucking moron to leave Ole Miss for Auburn. Ole Miss at least has SOME rational idea of where they stand in the fucking SEC heriarchy. every 3 or 4 years they beat a top 5 SEC team, and their fans dont expect you to beat bama every fucking year, and win the national title every other year. Auburn is legit crazy like that.

Linwood Townhomes had a contest to get the chance to kick a field goal at the halftime of a Tech game for a year's free rent the guy that won it made the kick and after Tech missed (I believe 3) kicks in the game on the day of the contest mike offered the guy that made the kick for the free rent the chance to come try out and then offered him the spot after he tried out the funny thing is he had to give up the free rent because at the time that was an illegal benefit later when Graham Harrell and Michael Crabtree were ask what they thought of Matt Williams they both said "who" and then the person asking said "your new field goal kicker" and they laughed and said "is that his name yea Linwood is great" (or something like that) because everyone only knew him as "Linwood" Edited November 22, 20223 yr by ButtFumble
November 22, 20223 yr Why would he ever leave Ole Miss for Auburn? That doesn’t make any sense to me Because then he gets to be a United States Senator!

November 23, 20223 yr Scroll up, just a few posts is all it takes. Local Ole Miss boosters are worried, but not surprised. Lane has been huge to them as it finally got the school in the National discussion. They aren’t looking for NC’s, just relevance and a big win every once in a while.

Almost everyone is looking for a national title. Especially anybody in the SEC not named Vanderbilt. They were willing to let High Freeze do whatever he wanted to bring them a title, until it all unraveled. It was only the sanctions from the NCAA that eventually forced their hand to fire him, otherwise they would have kept him around, knowing that he had a title in his sights. Even then, they tried to blame it all on Houston Nutt, so they could keep Freeze. They are ready and willing to do whatever it takes to win a title.

November 24, 20223 yr Fuck. Kentucky gave Stoops a contract thru 2031 that averages $9mil a year, signed the day before he fucking list to Vandy. Price of poker just went up for coaches when a B- HC gets that kind of money. Sexton sinning his web.

Kentucky inks Mark Stoops to yet another extension A 3-year extension will keep Stoops under contract through 2030 season. Stoops's deal pointedly pays him $8.65 million -- more than the $8.5 million John Calipari earns Pretty funny that Calipari helped Stoops get a raise to amount higher than Calipari's salary 😋 https://footballscoop.com/news/mark-stoops-kentucky-contract-extension-2030

Price of poker just went up for coaches when a B- HC gets that kind of money. Sexton sinning his web. It won't stop college because football is the engine for every p5 athletic department. There will be always several desperate schools willing to overpay to get a coach that will get their unhappy boosters to shut up for at least a year or two. Always. And while it's fun to rag on aggy, jimbo's contract isn't as horrible as Tucker's at MSU. 10 years/95 million for this crap means we aren't that far away from a $15 million/yr coach. There's no way you can convince me that tucker is one of the top 30 college coaches around, but as long as you have rich alumni the end is nowhere in sight.
November 24, 20223 yr I have no idea if he’s going to bolt to Auburn - I don’t think he will - but I was browsing Twitter to get the latest gossip and discovered Lane’s dog has his own Twitter account (and his own NIL deal lol) and I now follow Juice Kiffin. Whoever runs the account is hilarious and Juice is a very good boy.
November 24, 20223 yr Basically the only thing I’d ever have a remotely inside source on, but as of today I’d be shocked if Lane left for Auburn. Never know for sure with him though.
