December 8, 20196 yr Quote The Big East is on FIRE! 4-0 in the Big East/Big 12 Battle right now and the conference had SEVEN wins today! With Marquette beating Kansas State, the Big East is up 4-0 in the Big East/Big 12 challenge (Georgetown over Oklahoma State, DePaul over Texas Tech, St. John’s over West Virginia, Marquette over Kansas State.) big 12 conference not as deep as we thought........big 12 may lose both challenges this season (big east/sec) remain games how do u see this ending Seton Hall @ Iowa State Sunday, Dec 7th at 8 Butler @ Baylor Tuesday, Dec 10th at 8 Oklahoma @ Creighton Tuesday, Dec 17th at 7:30 Kansas @ Villanova Saturday, Dec 21st at 11 am Texas @ Providence Saturday, Dec 21st at 1 pm Xavier @ TCU Sunday, Dec 22nd at 4 pm
December 8, 20196 yr Butler/Baylor game will be good. Baylor is better than people think they are. We actually have a chance to beat Providence, as Providence is very bad. But just our luck, they'll be on fire against us. TCU maybe has a shot against Xavier, only because that game is at home. But the rest of them are losses.

TCU is #58, Texas is #43, and the other 7 teams are all in the top 40. that's a tough league top to bottom. why or how anyone who claims to follow this sport wouldn't know this, i don't know. and yet here we are. December 8, 20196 yr Tech losing to DePaul in OT wasn’t indicative of suckage. It was 2 good teams duking it out and it ended up going the Blue Demons’way. This Tuesday is Louisville vs Tech. Do you think Louisville feels like it’s a lay up Game? I hope so...
December 8, 20196 yr for @Onboard 2.0 here are the numbers from previous seasons: 2019: 8/10 teams finish in the top 40, and the conference is rated #1 2018: 9/10 teams in the top 58, 7/10 teams in the top 36, and the league is ranked #1 2017: every single team (including 11-win Texas and 11-win OU is ranked in the top 70 in the country, with 8/10 teams in the top 41. the conference is ranked #1 2016: 8/10 teams in the league are ranked in the top 55, including three in the top 10. the conference is ranked #1 2015: 8/10 teams in the league are in the top 56 nationally, including six in the top 25 and three in the top 10. The conference was ranked #1 And that catches us all the way up to the point where you decided to grace this board (TOS at the time) with your presence due to Shaka's arrival. In other words, the Big XII has been the best conference in basketball top to bottom literally every single season since you came over here from VCU, and yet not only are you ignorant of this fact, you continue to run your mouth about it. typical OnBoard. December 8, 20196 yr These challenges are neat but one shouldn't read too much into them one way or the other. The computers consistently rate the Big 12 as the toughest conference. Posters touting this are merely citing objective metrics. Doesn't mean the metrics are correct, but it does mean they have a good argument. The Big 12 seemed as low as it's been in decades last year ... yet Tech still ground its way to the championship game. And though the league isn't as top heavy as it was in the 00s, it's still very solid. There are no free lunches in the Big 12, especially on the road.

Yeah so losing the majority of your games to the big east means nothing. It's all about the stats. Win loss records ??... meh, we got KEN POM ratings thru the roof. How someone who claims to be a basketball savant doesn't grasp that concept is beyond me. You're looking at life thru burnt orange colored glasses. Most of the conferences have a few really strong teams at the top, and then the rest are usually toss up wins or losses and then there are the bottom feeders every conference has. I'm not saying the Big 12 isn't competitive in or outside its conference play, but dropping that many games in a tournament is more than just a bad night for all the teams that lost. Uh derka, I was on this board a couple years before Shaka left VCU, and went to Austin. Facts, how do they work ?
December 8, 20196 yr i stopped reading your post after a sentence or two because whatever you were typing up there has nothing to do with what we were discussing in the first place. a simple "you were right as usual" would have sufficed, but it wouldn't be OnBoard without some tangential diatribe after being proven wrong once again.
December 8, 20196 yr Sagarin has Big 12 1, barely above the big east https://sagarin.com/sports/cbsend.htm but like Im saying, some of these Big East schools are non scholarship in football besides basically Villanova. the rest push all of their chips into basketball. and it shows, its above the ACC.
