March 16Mar 16 Can anyone help me hunt down a unicorn? I fly for a living and prefer boots for work. I’ve been wearing Ariat ropers since before covid and it’s time to replace. They’re great but the 10” shaft gives me grief with my pants riding up. So I’m looking for something with a 11” or 12” shaft. It can’t have a steel shank and it can’t have a nailed heel, just to avoid talking them off at security. Something like these Durango’s but with a Vibram-type sole. Does such a beast exist? https://www.cavenders.com/durango-mens-shyloh-black-onyx-r-toe-cowboy-boots/DUDDB0485___001__10___EE.html?cgid=mens-cowboy-boots the only thing I can find are these work boots but the design is a little lame https://www.midwestboots.com/product/DH5381.html

March 21Mar 21 I’ve come to conclusion that 20k steps in 8 hours will kill your feet no matter the boot. My choices next year are pain or tennis shoes.

My older ariats have stretched out to the point that I can get insoles in them and I could wear them all day. Such a difference.
March 30Mar 30 Looking for a solid boot jack that won’t scratch or scuff my new Lucchese’ heels. Any recs? Don’t need it to be fancy or expensive, but wrapped in suede or similar.

April 1Apr 1 Yes, these are purple suede. Baby Doll scored big over the weekend. These don't exist, even on the website.
April 1Apr 1 Those are nice. I can't imagine how many levels of paranoia she'll be going through wearing them outta the house.

Only on perfect weather days with no chance of anything. Funny thing is, these boots aren't even available on the website. They did a very limited production for the NFR back in December and put them in their IG stories. She was committing all of the seven deadly sins looking at them. We stumbled into a store this weekend and saw them and once I heard them say they had her size, I knew it was over.

These are for square-toe Ariat work boots. My new Frye ropers are so damn comfortable I can't imagine having to do anything to them for years to come.
June 4Jun 4 I wonder if Rujo is in trouble? Nearly constant sales for months now. Currently 30% off site wide.
June 27Jun 27 I wore an expensive pair of Tecovas for about 14 hours yesterday. Combination of sitting and standing. My right foot was killing me all day long. The boots had been broken in previously. They're a few years old. It's just not a comfortable boot especially when compared to Rujo. I'm done unless they bring back some lizard boots in a certain color I like.

I did this for mine and my sons. Are they rubbing on the heel or the toes?

I do have flat feet, but this really isn’t a problem with other brands of boots.

I just slide them in there, crank them open and leave overnight. worked on both mine and my son's new boots. Might help?

June 28Jun 28 Im just really skeptical that a bunch of D and EE width boots could really properly fit the vast majority of people.

I'm not trying to be an asshole, but there are 1k Tecovas? There are a a half dozen considerably more reputable boot companies with exotics at that price point.

I personally didn't think they were a good deal at $250, so never checked back in after that. That sucks to hear about your boots. I have a pair of caiman lucchese that were several days/week wear boots that I put down for a while, then were uncomfortable af when I picked them back up after a year or so. They are currently at the cobbler getting new soles to see if that will fix it, but I'm not sure. If this doesn't fix them they are getting donated. I've never had a pair of boots stiffen up like that before. Just flat out uncomfortable.

They were a gift and they slam and go hard. I've got some of the cheap spectrum tecovas that are about 6 or 7 years old at this point and they aren't falling apart is the best I can say for them. Maybe with all the VC or PE money they got their quality has gone up is all I can surmise from my experience. Edited July 11Jul 11 by Vegas64

But it’s a very slick, comfortable boot. I have a pair of sharks and eels that I really don’t like anymore. I doubt this one will fall out of the rotation.
September 29Sep 29 I have Tecovas alligators (the Townes) which i don't think they sell anymore. Five years old and still look/feel great. Best looking boots i have ever owned.
December 6Dec 6 Anyone know anything about the Allens boot branded boots? I was thinking of adding some boots to my Christmas list, and just happened to see Allen's had their own brand. Anyhow likely going to Vespaio at some point this weekend and thought about seeing how they compare to the Luchesse offerings as far as comfort, and build? Whether I should even consider them at all? I just started wearing my boot again after a considerable layoff. And thinking of maybe getting some new one's to add into the rotation. What I also need to do is get rid of some of my Dad's old boots, he's got some old ones that look pretty good, but too big for me. But one is a pair of sea turtle. Not sure what to do with those...
December 6Dec 6 1) what size pedal did pops have? 2) Allens makes some nice boots. Not my style, but they appear to be quality so I can’t knock ‘em.
