Seeing this pic got me wondering what you all think. Obviously does not have to be something on there.

Well first of all, the fact that they used the Sandler version of The Longest Yard means that whoever made that graphic should be shot in the face.

As for your question, my favorite football movie is my copy of the 1/4/2006 Rose Bowl.

The Dark Knight Rises

Concussion qualifies as a football movie?

Having said that, Friday night lights. Even though that was a bit before my time, and of course there was a bit of Hollywood in there, i thought it pretty accurately captured Texas HS football as a whole even though it was about a single program during a certain era.

The Program

Joe Bob’s Fine Foods. Eat here or I’ll kill you

I've watched Varsity Blues more than any other football movie.

The correct answer, followed closely by Brian's Song.

HM: Gus The Kicking Mule, Black Sunday, Two Minute Warning.

I don’t want your life.

Bullshit.  You wish you could lick your own balls.

Brian's song is one of the first football movies I remember, and had always been one of my favorites.

I cant believe there are actual Texans on here not choosing Friday Night Lights

the score alone is the best in the history of cinema

Because it sucked.  It's the Major League of football movies.

I will rewatch FNL and Varsity Blues over anything else mentioned in this thread.  ZFG.

Anyone, other than RPM, ever watch Number One with Chuck H ?  Terrible movie with even worse football action...

Heaven Can Wait is pretty solid with Warren Beatty, Julie Christie.

Friday Night Lights is the answer for “best”. Only movie I’ve ever cried at.

Just to throw one out to go along with others

Draft Day? Not saying it is just throwing an option i didnt see.

Green street hooligans is also a football film...

Necessary Roughness for sure.

I watched Varsity Blues a million times because I was in high school at the time and we watched it a ton.

The Replacements was so bad it’s become thoroughly enjoyable.

No votes for Steamin’ Willie Beaman and Any Given Sunday?

“Coach, I look like I jacked off an elephant”. Any movie that has that quote is okay in my book. Varsity Blues and Remember the Titans are okay. North Dallas Forty is a classic but it wasn’t really a football movie that much.

Football movies aren’t as good as either baseball (Major League, The Natural, Field of Dreams, Bull Durham) or basketball (Hoosiers). All of those five movies are better than any football movie made. Hell Teen Wolf is a better basketball movie than any football movie made.

Kids, this your brain on drugs.  Don't do drugs, kids.

Serious one:  We are Marshall.

Fun one, with some remarkably similar things to stuff I witnessed in small town football, minus the strip club: Varsity Blues

No.  Perhaps there's a Disney thread you'd be more comfortable posting in?

The six posters posting before this movie was mentioned enjoy body glitter and fingering each other up the ass.

FNL movie pisses me off because they moved the Carter game to the Dome when it was at DKR and I know because I was there.

Brian's Song is an amazing and moving story... and  a really shitty movie.  For real, it sucks.

For years I was told by guys my dad's age that it was the best sports movie of all time.  I felt sorry for the guys of that generation after I saw it because it sucked and there were at least a dozen better sports movies made in my generation.

Longest Yard, Brian's Song { hold on while I cry a second }. and yes, the classic Gus the Kicking Mule (Don Knotts at his finest).
