(and yes I know that would severely limit the number of teams entering the sport.  Perhaps that's what's needed)

  • It's already happened multiple times in the season when either of the Mercs has some sort of issue, ends up at the back, and bulldogs its way all the way to the front.  Same for the FauxMerx of Perez.

  • ToroRosso...now AlphaTauri. DROOL.

Add a money cap as the only rule and you can fix that. Take the average of what teams spend now and make that the cap. Then, see what happens.

I'm spiritually opposed to a money cap, because I want F1 to be the pinnacle of automotive racing innovation.  But  I do recognize it would keep more teams in the sport.

I suppose I could make some sort of compromise. :)

Emerson's grandson... cool!  Thanks for the info!

Emerson Fittipaldi is as cool as a dude can get. He is the best interview I have ever done in all my racing coverage. At the end he said to me, "Chow Baby". Cool as fuck!

A new Schumacher will begin in Formula 1 in 2021 with the Haas F1 Team.

The American Haas F1 Team announced on Wednesday that it has signed Mick Schumacher to complete its new-look driver lineup for 2021. The team on Tuesday introduced Nikita Mazepin as its other new driver.

Both drivers signed multi-year agreements.

Anyone have a link that shows the times for the practices, qualifying, and race this weekend?

ESPN as usual has completely dropped the ball in updating their F1 page.

Impressive P1 for Russell...I guess you could say he looked a little shaky those first few laps but finally got comfortable and is now almost .2 ahead of Max for the best lap of the session.

They are already running 54.5 laps...

Russell also records the fastest lap in P2. I’m not sure what these results say about Russell, Hamilton and Bottas. I’m leaning that it is more an indictment of Bottas than anything else.

Russel has always been fast. The question becomes can he put a whole race together. Bottas seems to be an average F1 driver in a great car.

Bottas had a quicker lap time deleted, and according to sky TV stats was .3 ahead of Russell when “adjusted”

Hope it’s a good race

FP1 placing is fairly meaningless.  it's just testing and experimentation.  FP2, a little more meaningful.  FP3 and Q we'll see actual performance and performance potential

still have no idea how he managed to pry himself out of that with the top of the safety cell leaning against the wreckage of the fence

the racing line is on one end of the track, and he literally went off the track on the opposite side, just to "defend".

Just watched the race. Wow, that was incredible.

Great stuff from Mick, too.

And yeah, about what’d I’d expect from Mazepin.

If you don’t already know, he punched Callum Ilott in the face while they were both in F3 because he felt he was blocked by him in a practice session.

Mick will be staring 2nd tomorrow with Ilott 3rd. Will be fun.

Different drivers, same story, Merc front row lockout. Imagine how much faster Russell would be if he wasn't blocking the air intake

Yeah, he missed pole by 0.027s with two days in the car. I thought Russell was a bit overhyped as “Mr Saturday,” but that was impressive.

Not at all. They are well deserved.

I may be wrong but I think Pittsburgh was saying that it’s crap that he didn’t get a ban.

Leclerc coming in too hot as well

Frustration from losing that podium by no fault of his last week.
