  • It's already happened multiple times in the season when either of the Mercs has some sort of issue, ends up at the back, and bulldogs its way all the way to the front.  Same for the FauxMerx of Perez.

At this point in their careers, is Vettel really an upgrade on Perez?

Money and marketing say yes. Aston has a 4 time world champion. They will be talked about and mentioned often, just because of him being in the car.

From a driving standpoint, imho, no. But yeah, this is being done for other reasons I guess. They got rid of the wrong guy, but family ties. Really sucks for Perez. So we have an F1 where Perez and Hulk have no but the likes of Grosjean, Latifi etc do. Hope Checo finds a good landing spot.

Mark Antar made a concept livery that's consistent with the Alpine F1 teaser. Very nice, imho...

Perez was on contract extension until 2022, so they had to buy him out of that seat right?

Can't feel bad for collecting 30m sitting on the couch

Fucking Lewis.

As an aside, when he hopped on the razor scooter to go bleat at the stewards the other day, it surprised me that riding such a thing isn't prohibited by his contact. Seems like a great way to break a wrist and/or clavicle.

At least post the best one.

And if he can do this, I’m sure riding a scooter is allowed.

I wouldn't say he pulled it off. Even Ludacris would look ludicrous in that getup.

It looks like shit.

But Lewis gonna Lewis.

He’s in Italy. Of course he pulled it off. You old guys have no sense of modern European fashion.

LOL, Lewis. BTW, there's a whole lot more of this stuff over on the Motorsport Mayhem forum if you really need a good chuckle sometime.

Pretty sure Lewis rides that thing to avoid people. When I was in the paddock back in 2013-14, he would sprint across the paddock whenever going from the team building to the garage. Now he has Britta keep the scooter wherever he is. He doesn't have to run & nobody will engage him.

Re: riding that red scooter in the paddock, nah. Can't do that, but he can probably get away with the little one. Different story in the MotoGP paddock though. They all have motor scooters they ride in and out, sometimes two at a time.

I've not been following racing as long as y'all, so the Norris thing was what I was wondering about when watching the lap videos from Mugello. Gravel and grass so close to the white line compared to most tracks all over the place. Wondered if it would cause issues.

I love Norris's reaction to it. So many competitors in all kinds of competitions these days want to complain when things are made more difficult. He totally manned up, took it on the chin, and said it's better when it's more challenging. One more reason to be a Norris fan.

Yep. It causes the right kind of complications. He's right. It is better when it's more challenging. Letting the cars run wide all over the place is pure bullshit.

The Stroll - Toto meetup was interesting for sure.

Yeah, it looks atrocious though.

I think in that picture it does not look very becoming. But if it is the red that was on the first Ferrari car in 1947, which in pictures looks pretty nice I am for it. I will reserve judgement until qualifying.

Yeah like Button said, it's stunning in person but on TV it doesn't look as good, which is why they changed it, much to the fans' chagrin. I've seen it in person, and imho it looks much better than the current red.

Remember the big hullaballoo when Ferrari tweaked the red in favor of Marlboro? I say go back to the original, all the way back to what the Old Man wanted.

Well, to be fair they’ve had several reds. They keep changing it all the time. I didn’t mean for this to be a huge post, but I had fun finding these photos so here we go.

The original burgundy color:

Even brighter:

Some 312s had a darker color again:

The most “traditional” looking Rosso Corsa that we kind of know today

F138 - I actually really like how this car looked. Lots of people don’t.

Hybrid era has been all over the place:

Solid work!

I do think the amount of sunlight in each picture plays on how the red appears. I LOVE the red on that #9 car.  That’s perfect, for a Ferrari, for me. And I really like the color of the  original, the 125S. It works for me.

Arrabiata painted on the outside of the corner looks great from above

641 is the best looking F1 car of all time.

can we go back to that and the MP4/5-6-7?

Yeah I think some of those early ones were the same, just with different light. The colors of the 312/666, 312/67, & the 641 look fantastic.

^ & ^^, Yes, please. Both the 641 & those McLarens also had the best liveries of all time imho. The 641 had the best Ferrari livery ever, imho.

Yeah, a cruel sport if you are not in a Mercedes and with Albon looking good today.

F3 spoiler/info.

F3 championship is tied going into the last race tomorrow.

American Logan Sargeant is in a good place to win. He starts in 3rd tomorrow, Pourchaire in 6th, Piastri in 11th.

F2 spoiler/info.

Massive fight back by Mick Schumacher today after qualifying horribly. Late SC shook up the field, and Ilott took damage, ending out of the points after pitting.

That puts Mick on top of the championship standings!

Dan Ticktum still being a twat.

Masi seems to have no clue what he wants to do ... that's 3 different track limits having been enforced in the last 2 weekends - 2 different ones in this session simultaneously and 2 more simultaneously at Monza.

grass track limits at mid ohio today for those wondering what that might look like
