December 16, 20196 yr So, I was making French Onion soup on a cold day. The recipe called for a couple ounces of brandy. I didn't have any on hand, as I wasn't a brandy/cognac guy. SInce I was cooking, I send the GF to the store for brandy. She comes back with a 750 ML bottle of Christian Bros, which was on sale for 8 bucks or so. I used it in the soup, and the soup turned out great. Then I poured a splash in a glass. This cheap shit is really, really good. I just bought another bottle because I finished the first one.
December 16, 20196 yr @Safeway now, I need some Brandy for cooking, Mincemeat pie. And I thought: who who on the internet would give me the no BS answer quickly? 😎
December 16, 20196 yr How I discovered Monkey Shoulder. For the price, I love the stuff. Was in a hurry, gift for a friend. Grabbed it off the shelf and had to hit the road. At the party, more than one remarked how well they liked it.
December 16, 20196 yr I like a bit of brandy now and then. It's a mellow alternative to whisky or bourbon. Floating a shot on top of a margarita isn't bad.
