Engineers think a hyperloop in Texas is feasible. Laredo to Fort Worth in 48 minutes

Featured Replies

This is absolutely bullshit.  I believe in the physics but I have zero faith in the notion that anyone remotely involved in this monumental scientific advancement had Laredo Texas in mind when they designed the terminus

fuck it.  i've got 5 on it if it takes truck traffic off i35

Lol.  I love the outrage on this one.

Giddy up muchacho

I presume the hyperloop would stop every 50 miles or so for a Bucees or Allsup's.

Taking down an Allsup's burrito every 4.28 minutes is going  to put quite a stress on the carriage lavatory situation. Better make every seat a shitter and stock up on air fresheners.

So if this works, it'll be Amarillo by the night before?

Could it move freight from Laredo up the 35 corridor? I wouldn't mind about 80% fewer trucks on 35.

Have them at either end, most people might not get through their 96-oz soda within 48 minutes.

Holy shit.  There's a map of BoysTown??

It's not accurate. Martha's Club where they have the Donkey Show is in the southwest corner of the inner plaza.

Not even sure Americans can get there now. Calle Monterrery is run by the Cartels and wicked dangerous at night.

Guess you've never heard of Brockway, North Haverbrook and Ogdenville... by gum, it put them on the map.

Are you the favorite son of Laredo, Lyle Lomez?

I never went either, but the best part of that map is the tiny little clinic.

Reminds me of Thomson Hall when I was at Tech...

Trying to pin down where the Dallas Cowboys bar which later became The Western (or was it the other way around?) was. Asking for a friend as I never went.

The guy quoted in the article as the independent expert recommending the technology gets his salary paid by Hyperloop. Google AECOM and Hyperloop.

I wish to change my answer in the other thread regarding a perfectly engineered item.

I can think of nothing engineered more perfectly than a deep-fried Allsup's burrito.

The crispy exterior wrapping the warm, oozy filling is truly an exquisite work of art.

Proceed.

Don't most people know by now that "experts" are almost uniformly idiots? We were all supposed to have flying cars and electricity would be "too cheap to meter".
