November 9, 20223 yr Gave back about $450 last night. played for about 2 hours and took some shots at the end that didn't work out. Going home with plenty more than I arrived with, so that's cool. Liked the Cosmo. Played at Paris too. Not sure why, but i like the feel of their casino. It's like you're in a vineyard or some shit. The painted blue skies on the ceilings kind of fuck with me in a good way. Edited November 9, 20223 yr by slorch
November 10, 20223 yr Yeah, something weirdly cool about the Paris. We played for the first time at the Golden Gate last time. Old school, great craps atmosphere with the dancing blackjack dealers nearby and it's the only casino we could find that still allows cigar smoking at the table. El Cortez is also a great (cheap) craps option. Such a cool place.
November 10, 20223 yr Ellis Island kicks ass. Got put on to that place by a cabbie about 10 years ago when it was really up and coming/kinda dumpy. on-site microbrewery($3 drafts i think) with fairly run of the mill but not bad beer. kick ass deal on a good prime rib and a western ribs and chicken meal. Cheap tables. fuckin A.
November 14, 20223 yr Has anyone gambled in Shreveport/Bossier? Looking for a decent place to stay and play. The Horseshoe was recommended by a friend of a friend. Edited November 14, 20223 yr by Harrison Stafford
November 15, 20223 yr I played there a lot from 2010- 2018 or so. I'd rank the casino hotels: Margaritaville Bally's Horseshoe Sam's Town Boomtown I'd rank the casinos: Horseshoe Bally's Margaritaville Sam's Town/ Boomtown/ Cactus Jack's tie for super ashtray/ riverboat effect. For craps, you'll enjoy player friendly rules like 20x odds, unless they've changed. Horseshoe had 100x odds.
November 23, 20223 yr Thought my baby brother and I were going to Shreveport/Bossier in December, but he wants to go to Vegas. So, Vegas it shall be. Neither of us have been since 2015, so we’re spending four nights at the V/P to see what’s new. I’m usually a wrong way bettor (looking at you @slorch), but I was wondering if there was merit to playing the dark side in conjunction with the HG system. You’d be in position to take advantage of a hot or cold table. Thoughts?
November 23, 20223 yr Sometimes, I lack conviction and play the right way. Depends on the vibe at the table. I just want to take the casino’s money and have fun

You’d be in position to take advantage of a hot or cold table. Thoughts? I fully admit and have said so in the past, that I play 'boring craps.' As a wrong way bettor, I don't believe in hedging or putting money on the hardways or any of the various iterations one might see at the table. Having more numbers covered doesn't necessarily make the game more fun for me. The folks who start out with a line bet on both the PASS and DON'T PASS just bug the hell outta me, even if it is their money and not mine. If you make it past the comeout roll, you should bet the don't. That's why you can pick up the don't line bet any time, but the PASS line bet is a contract bet and locked in once the point is established. Play the way you want, but these people are virtually guaranteed to get smashed. I believe in minimizing my exposure to the house advantage. I make one DON'T PASS bet and get my variance in the game by increasing/decreasing the odds that I am laying. Again, not a lot of numbers on the table, but I enjoy the play that every roll of the dice is in my favor after the point is established. I like my boring method. just sit there and wait for that 16.7% number to come up. Not sure if my answer totally addresses your question. I guess the biggest thing for me is getting on a streak and pounding my odds bets. I like increased money out there, not necessarily more numbers. Edited November 23, 20223 yr by slorch
November 23, 20223 yr Okay, but the max bet the wrong way is laying the odds at 6x the DON’T PASS bet. No mas. Is that the extent of your exposure at the table?

Is that the extent of your exposure at the table? I prefer the Louisiana casinos( and Colorado) that allow 10X. 20X, and Horseshoe's 100X( a rare bet, regardless of how hot( cold) the table is.) Yeah, on the Vegas/ New Mexico/ Oklahoma casinos, 6X is my exposure, but I will increase my line bet to pump up the odds. There were times when I was betting $50 and laying $300 during that recent Vegas trip. That's plenty of juice for what i had going on, IMHO. Some buddies and I were talking about the most we ever had on the table in true action at a casino; and I'm pretty sure mine was laying $3000 odds on a $150 flat bet in Lake Charles. November 29, 20223 yr I honestly dgaf how anyone bets, like slorch said, its your money. But I will admit to sometimes talking shit to the wrong way bettors. All in good fun of course.
November 30, 20223 yr It’s when the dark side bettors are loudly cheering for 7s that pisses me off. Fuck all that.

You’d be in position to take advantage of a hot or cold table. Thoughts? to answer your question (3 months later), there's probably a way to do both and have it be mathematically ok for you, but it would likely entail a lot of treading water and if you run into a hot pass table, you could drown pretty quick. the ideal table for you is the same for me - the ones where everyone is moaning and groaning about "why are all the numbers hitting except the point what the fuck?" so yeah, that could work in your favor. however it's always nice for me when a point does hit and everyone takes a deep breath. that said, those spread out like that have a tendency to get nervous and not take proper advantage of the odds. like slorch said, depending on the table limits, if you're going to do something, do it right. i don't know how the trip went, but i can tell you if you went to the venetian/palazzo, the system would've been rough, as you probably saw $25 min tables everywhere you went. say what you will about the 2-3 different "automated" versions of craps, but they allow you to play the system at pretty much any level. if you have a good crew of people playing or hanging around the table and a willing and attentive waitress, there are far worse ways to spend a couple hours at a nice casino. nothing beats live craps, but shit, it's tough to find a good long lean these days.
May 26, 20232 yr Yes. Have played on one at Inn of the Mountain Gods at Ruidoso. I actually liked it because the payouts/ betting was MUCH more efficient, It also allows the table to be open longer in smaller casinos, because it is a crew of 1. No late bets for the stupidheads, because when it cuts off, it's off... Edited May 26, 20232 yr by slorch
May 26, 20232 yr Those tables are scattered around the Strip. Sliding the dice should have easily been caught by the dealer and called a no roll.
May 31, 20232 yr I played on one at Winstar before. It does help the game move a little faster since no chips need to be exchanged and the minimums are smaller than a regular table.

Posted in the Vegas thread, but caught a nice little heater on Saturday at the Bellagio while flying high on mushrooms with four buddies. One of my friends was rolling. The rest of the table was going crazy, and could not understand why we were supremely more chill than they were. Each of us cashed out doubled up. Of course got wiped out the night before, so it was much needed.
August 31, 20232 yr For the first time, in my too-long run at craps, I finally was able to take some money from Caesars in a recent trip. Unfortunately when they raised the limits to $50, I didn't have the bankroll so I moseyed around and dropped almost everything at a horrible run at Paris. I tried to hang at a $50 minimum table but that amount + my betting style did not equal the cash I had on hand. I actually made a few bucks at $50 but I could tell 2-3 bad shooters would wipe me out. (to be clear they didn't kick me off the table when they raised it to $50. I walked away for breakfast and came back to the table at $50. I was surprised to see nothing but $50 at noon.)

September 1, 20232 yr At ARIA it’s not uncommon to see a team of dealers standing around an empty $100 table, while a packed $25 is going off right next to them. Clearly they’ve done the math and know a big fish will come along eventually and they’ll actually make more money with this strategy.

Yeah, ever since reading that yesterday, I've been running, " Give me $270 across!" in my head; and my wallet is chirping back in, "Fuck all that to hell!!!" I've played $25 craps before, but I was already up. I've had significantly more than that on the table before. That ain't my starting point, and I'm not going to force it. October 29, 20232 yr The cold front that hit town did more than drop the temperature. I shyed away from getting into a game, but the ones I watched were cold af. Better luck next trip.
November 4, 20232 yr Went to Sioux Falls- Grand Falls 10X odds and was a $5 table Sioux City- Hard Rock 3x/4x/5x, $10 table and Council Bluffs Horseshoe- only crapless craps( fuck that!!!) Harrahs- no dice table going at 6PM- WTF?????? and Ameristar- 10X odds, $10 table. Played about 3 hours and made $300. All of them were very smoky, which still bewilders me why casinos think they have to do that shit. Colorado went non-smoking years ago and they are busy AF.
December 12, 20232 yr Was just in Vegas for the first time since before covid and y'all aren't lying about the strip minimums, wtf? Never less than $15 and at Bellagio and Aria it was sometimes $50. Even downtown and Red Rocks were $15. I did play at a $5 table at Ellis Island and a $10 table at Silverton (but crapless craps bullshit). Came out about even. January 1, 20241 yr Went to Shreveport/Bossier last night for the wife's birthday. Threw dice at Bally's, Margaritaville, and the Horseshoe. $15 min at Bally's and Horseshoe, $25 min at Margaritaville. Cashed in for 80 at both Bally's and Margaritaville and $100 at Horseshoe. Made money at all of them, but had to throw in an additional $100 at Horseshoe to get out of a hole. Was down to my last $15 at one point there. Liked Bally's the best, Margaritaville the least. Horseshoe had the best drink service. If I recall correctly, they all offered 100x odds.

February 3, 20241 yr Got absolutely smoked in Blackhawk at the Lodge last weekend. One pretty full table, went around twice in about an hour. One point rolled in total, HG system (which I play) got massacred too. Every roll was something like 3-6-7 or 8-5-12-7.
February 3, 20241 yr How high are the table minimums going to be for Super Bowl weekend? I wouldn’t be surprised if they are $100 at some casinos.
February 4, 20241 yr I've never been to Vegas during a big fight weekend or whatever. Gotta imagine Fri-Sat-Sun table minimums will be peak. $100 seems crazy, but then again, it doesn't.
February 7, 20241 yr Little "Eighter from Decatur" action... didn't know this existed until this morning.
