February 15, 20241 yr I stayed at Bellagio this past weekend (Friday-Monday). There was usually one $50 table, but the rest were $100, $300, $500, $1,000, and usually a couple of Reserved tables. I got to play with Offset (Migos rapper, formerly married to Cardi B) on Saturday night, and it was wild. They let him do whatever he wanted, including actually hitting the ceiling with the dice on one throw.
March 30, 20241 yr At Tahoe a few weeks back, jawing with a friend we missed betting “make “em all” - stupid bet but we usually put $25 on it and we’ve gotten close a few times. Mother fucker rolled it and we missed. during the roll I was pissed all that was needed was 3 to hit it, I plopped down $25 on 2/1 for the 3 and hit it that roll. I think that’s a 30:1 bet, it was amazing. shocking I don’t bet simple or conservative at the craps table, I bet for the story. Usually it’s losing a few grand. Sometimes I have the story like this one though. house won, I got the laugh though. Edited March 30, 20241 yr by troph
April 5, 20241 yr Bellagio, Aria, and Planet Hollywood last week.Profitable weekend…didn’t win as much as prior trips but when that fourth horn in a row threw, as I parlayed each prior leg up after starting with $5, let’s just say I haven’t felt that alive in years. 11, 12, 3, 12. Good golly miss Molly.
April 8, 20241 yr Popular Post Was in Vegas with 7 buddies a couple months back, only a couple of us had ever played craps before, so little to no strategy in the group. We were at Resorts World and caught the biggest heater I've ever been a part of, just pure luck that would not end. Walked out of the casino at 7 a.m. with well over $10k collectively. My friend and I were wearing Texas polos and two old ass drunk Michigan fans joined our table around 3 a.m. and were screaming Texas Fight. Won those guys so much money that they gave both of us a $500 chip on their way out. It was a fever dream.
October 28, 20241 yr My brother and I will be in Vegas for the F1 Grand Prix in the latter part of November staying at the V/P. Our rooms are comped and, for the first time, we have a host at these properties. She gave us both room upgrades (I asked for them plus a bunch of other comps we didn’t get). Should I give her a tip during our stay?

I usually buy a card from gift store and put some cash in it and give it to her.
November 19, 20241 yr I’m a dark side bettor, but am considering a different strategy on this trip. At a $25 min. table, make a $25 don’t pass bet laying no odds w/a pt of 6 or8, laying $75 w/a pt of 5 or 9, and max odds w/a 4 or 10. Then, placing $30 each on the 6 and 8. If the point is 6 or 8, take down the place bet on that number. I want to have fun, maximize my time at the table/comps, and win if the dice are kind. Thoughts?
November 30, 20241 yr Stayed at the Venetian last weekend. Down $400 the first night betting the dark side. The next day we (my baby brother and I) played at the Linq because they had $15 tables. At every casino, the pit boss would acknowledge us as he returned our players card…but not at the Linq. No greeting or small talk, no eye contact, nada. And the dealers were all unpleasant. The vibe at that place sucked and we stayed and played because it was the only place on the strip with $15 tables. But, instead of the dark side, I bet the light side along with everyone else at the table. Screw you. We’re gonna take your money. And we did. My brother and I walked away each +$500. I’d forgotten how much fun it was to have camaraderie with complete strangers while shooting craps and winning. So, for the rest of the trip, I bet the right way…all at the Venetian…and finished +$2500. I’d back up the point w/odds and place the six and eight. No more betting the dark side for this lad.

December 24, 20241 yr Crazy to think Uncle Richie taught @henrygandorf and I this craps method 25 years ago, and it's still being discussed/used by Texas fans. I love it.
December 25, 20241 yr the legend lives on, even though he likely died many years ago at the hands of a taxi he threw himself in front of in hopes of a fat settlement. rest in power, u.r. 🙏🏻
February 8Feb 8 Aria has a $200 minimum bet table on the main floor and it’s full at Noon on Saturday. Sickos!
February 8Feb 8 "8, the point is eight. Eighter from Decatur. Get your bets in while the dice are in the middle." "Gimme $1008 across please..." Holy furk. I've had that much on the table before, but I was up like a motherfucker. Never starting out. I don't see how the average dude does it; but then again, that's not their quarry these days.
February 8Feb 8 Yeah. My preferred method is pass line and 2 come bets, all with full odds. I’ve been priced out of craps.

March 14Mar 14 Played at Harrah's in Chester, PA( south side of Philly) last night. Game was going fine, had been there about 20 minutes with about 4 players on each end of a long table. Dude shows up out of nowhere to the position to my left as I am in the hook and to the right of the stick. Dude starts berating the dealer for cheating him, after making a couple of comments that we thought were terrible attempts at a joke. The dealers were veteran guys with what appeared to be a solid group of local players. It's about 6PM, so we definitely were not expecting the '3AM, I'm hammered out of my gourd' show. Then he starts in about the dealer's ponytail( hair just neatly pulled back in a rubber band) and the box stands up, but then the pit boss walks up. None of us realized how fucking big this guy was but he's like 6'7, 350# and he just quietly asks the guy, "Is there a problem with my crew?" None of us really saw what happened next because the dice were shot and we were making our bets. We look up and dude is not walking away. Dude is not arguing with security. He was just fucking gone. It was amazing. It was if 3-4 angels dropped out of the sky and took this guy to a back room to throw him in an alley. Never have seen anything like that. Stealthy as shit. Just gone. I have a new appreciation for asshole removal service. Edited March 14Mar 14 by Iceman
March 14Mar 14 ^ Philly represent! I'm no longer infatuated with this game. Limits too high, never any women playing (just feels less sleazy and depressing with a mixed group), emergence of crapless tables. The individual bubble games give me my fix at whatever price I feel like, and I don't have to worry about idiots fucking up the rhythm of play or dealers confused by my (very normal) bets. I'll probably find myself back where I started, basic blackjack. It's easier to stomach $25 limits there, which usually means 3:2 BJ payouts.
March 30Mar 30 Had the first good run in a long time at Linq on a $15 table while waiting on some friends to go see Dead and Co. HG method in effect and 6 and 8 were plentiful as well as some hard ways. I wasn’t super disciplined with my press and collect but it worked out pretty well.
July 5Jul 5 Just got done with a fun Vegas trip with my wife and my buddy and his wife for his birthday. He and I play craps while the wives play slots usually. We stayed at Aria but craps was mostly $25 min. We walked to Park MGM and they had $15 tables so played there the first night. Down about $300.Next day we did more Park, then took a trip down to Fremont and started at El Cortez ($25 wtf?), then Grand which had $10 tables, now we are cooking. Made about $400.Last day we decided to walk a little and ended up at OYO (old Hooters), where they had one craps table at $5. Super cool dealers. We played there about 3-4 hours and I made $1000. Finally we crossed over to Excalibur and it was hella fun, good $10 table made me about $400 again. There was some other stuff in there too but I ended up +$1400 which was pretty good.My strat is a little different than HG, which I do want to try. I rarely press. I usually play the pass line minimum unless I trust the shooter. I always play max odds. If the point sets 5, 6, or 8, I’ll bet the other two. I will also play the field here, but setup my bets so if I lose the field it’s paid back on the 5, 6, or 8 with interest. For example on a $10 3x/4x/5x table I’ll put $10 on pass. If point sets at 8 I’ll put $50 on odds. I’ll lay $30 on 6 and $25 on 5 and $25 on field. If 5 or 6 hit you lose the field but pays $35 on your 5 or 6. Collect the $10 difference and $25 back up on field.Obviously I’m putting more at play, so you have to come in with a decent bankroll to take the waves. But when a shooter is going for a while you have a win condition on every single number other than 7. Point then 7 crushes but you can say that for everything. When the point hits after you’ve been collecting fields for awhile the payout is awesome. And collecting double on 2 and triple on 12 is a nice sweetener.

Maybe someone smarter than me did the math, but at every casino I walked into that had higher limit craps tables like $25 or $50 I would see one table with 3-4 people on it, and 10-12 empty unmanned tables. Guess they prefer a handful of higher rollers than tables full of lower ones? Those empty tables are just sitting there costing money! I'm sure they'll be replace by more slot machines soon.

They don't have the staff to man the all the tables. Further, thin bankrolled 30k millionaires(or whatever the current equivalent) are significantly more profitable than someone who can bet table max odds.

Agree which would seem to point to getting more action at more tables with slightly lower limits. But I'm sure they have data scientists who have gamed all of it out accounting for betting volume vs. cost to staff the tables.
July 30Jul 30 Robbie is shooting, of course! but has no odds. I'd also be pressing up at least a unit after the first 5 numbers rolled. Also, the point didn't mean shit for the big money boy. LOL. gamblin is gamblin. Edited July 30Jul 30 by Iceman
August 10Aug 10 Golden Gate is (was, soon) a great place to play craps (plus dancing dealers). Those tables are about to be gone and it's a trend that's going to continue. Operational cost + lessening demand = death of live craps. I mean, why mess with social friction, unpredictability of dealers and judgment from other players when you can have an ETG? The interactions, surly dealers and camaraderie / reactions from others around the table are exactly what make live craps so damn fun. Oh well, the die is being cast and there's no turning back. There will continue to be live craps tables, with the trend of continued higher mins, but the reality is that there will continue to be less and less of them. Long read, Roeben can tend to go on and on: https://www.casino.org/vitalvegas/golden-gate-to-replace-all-live-table-games-with-electronic-table-games/
August 10Aug 10 If the mechanized games offered the same odds, I'd prefer them over a table. Yes I like faster play, no dipshit late bets, and no idiots having foreplay with the dice. As long as it is still physical dice with true randomness; that's fine with me. IDGAF if they are fuzzy/ felt/ or plastic. It's probably a "me" problem, but I still don't trust electronic/ video game screen shit, even like what I play at home with no money on the line. Edited August 10Aug 10 by Iceman

Some of the best times I've had with friends were on Friday / Saturday nights on the Strip (and downtown) at a hot table. Everyone becomes best friends, chips going your way, drinks flow, bigger tokes for the dealers. The O'Shea's on the Strip was especially an epicenter of good times - table sat right on the the boulevard, got the street traffic and people watching, bar immediately adjacent to the table with Lucky the midget overseeing things / pouring shots, going eye high to women's crotches, and on. Heading there later this week. It's a never a bad time as there's nothing like that city.
August 20Aug 20 O'sheas was incredible back then...Binion's Horseshoe downtown in the late 90's early 00's was also incredible. Not quite the over the top show of O'Sheas, but the entire front of the Horseshoe stuffed with tables open right next to downtown was damn fun.
November 13Nov 13 Have a night in Lake Chuck before heading to H-town. Staying at Horseshoe. Holy $(:(@@$$(;!!!!!!!!! It's not even the same place that used to just be the worst fucking dump of a casino. Room is nice and unbelievably updated. 100x available max odds. $15 table tonight. Ordered a bloody mary and it was hotter'n fuck. Me to bartender- 'Brother!' If I lived in the area, it would easily be my go-to for craps!
