One of the best songs ever

Desperados waiting for a train

Stuff that works

Come from the heart

The cape

Baton Rouge

Old friends

Black diamond strings

To live is to fly (TVZ)

Randall knife

Boats to build

List goes on and on ....

A good cover, but I prefer the original.

Speaking of Bob Wills...

He's The Storyteller.  Wouldn't be no story without the teller.

one of my all-time favorites...

There is a great utube about the boars nest in Nashville - Willy, Waylon and all the others including Pierce.

One of my all time favorite tunes.  Grady Martin plays those great classical guitar flourishes.  The Glaser Brothers (who I posted above) sing those majestic harmony background vocals.  It's a perfect country song.  The whole record, Gunfighter Ballads & Trail Songs, is perfect.

I knew the song before this, but now I think of this every time I hear or see El Paso

Was always an Alan Jackson fan but really came to like his music even more after knowing the backstory to this bit. He was pissed that he was asked to play to a prerecorded track so in defiance he had his drummer go on stage and pretend to play the drums with no sticks. Supposedly he was never asked to do that again and only played live--again supposedly either way pretty funny.
