I'm not getting anything done at work right now, just watching old country songs on youtube

A little more Milsap

I'm sure everyone remembers this 70s classic Country&Western Song:

The Killer has an underappreciated collection of country hits.

My personnel favorite:

Mel wrote some damn fine songs

must spread the rep

I find his comedy to be outstanding, too.

Always thought Waylon's cool baritone voice added to the eerieness of this song:

"she walked right by me and she looked right through me"

Faron and Willie tell the story of Hello Walls.

I don’t usually follow children of legends but he’s got something.

Agree, The Killer is an oft-forgotten country treasure.

And of course, that will always remind me of his cousin Mickey Gilley, who had plenty of country hits, but my all-time favorite of his is this Buddy Holly cover:

I was raised on country music, mostly 70s and 80s glamour cowboy stuff - Ronnie, Kenny, T.G. Shepard, Eddie Rabbitt, John Conlee, Anne Murray, Janie Fricke, that kind of stuff. But I grew to like just about everything country up until the genre died in the late 90s. RIP

Of course I dig the Outlaws, too. Ran into this hoss in Mesa, Arizona:

Hank Locklin. My grandparents favorite song.

Was recently at the Country Music Hall of Fame in Nashville. The Outlaw and Armadillo exhibit was very cool. Mostly Austin-centric stuff.

I've been watching hours and hours of these Ralph Emery specials on YouTube and there are some amazing performances. If it's alright with you fellas, I'm going to post a couple  of them. On the Glen Campbell, skipped to the 45 second mark to get to the singing. His cover of Crying is so fucking good, I can't get enough of it. Watching Willie, Waylon, and others is pure magic!

All my Rowdy Friends Have Settled Down is the greatest country song. Prove me wrong,

It's not even in the conversation as greatest country song. Hell, it's not even Jr's best song. Family Tradition and Blues Man say hi. That being said, it is a good song and is one of his best.
