WELCOME TO THE LOST CORVETTES

Our team is in the process of restoring all 36 of the classic Corvettes that were part the greatest barn find in automotive history. You may have already gotten a behind the scenes look at the Big Six from ’53, ’56, ‘57, ’66, ’67 and ’69 on our series on HISTORY and FYI.

We recently took the Lost Corvettes featured on TV for a spin at the LA Auto Show where KTLA visited with us and shared how the 36 Corvettes were “rescued” after being housed in New York City parking garages for nearly 25 years.

These are the same Corvettes that VH1 gave away in 1989, the winner of that contest sold them to the artist Peter Max who planned on repainting them but never go around to it.

For more than 25 years, the Peter Max Corvettes have languished in one New York parking garage or another.

Here is a list of the Corvettes in the contest

I'd imagine that all those years of nyc parking garage fees have eclipsed the actual value of the cars at this point.

In 1964 I checked out a nice used red ‘58 Vette (with hardtop, 283, 4-sp). The adult owner wouldn’t budge from his $1,800 asking price, so I wound up buying a 1960 MGA roadster. Quite a downgrade, but still fun to drive.

My dad had an old corvette (not sure exactly what year but it was the iconic red one with the white stripe down the side) in Indianapolis where he was doing a residency. He asked my mom to start the engine while he was at work. She said the door was frozen so she couldn't start it. The engine block cracked and he ended up selling it. 50 something years later, he is still pissed off about it which seems silly because he has had plenty of exotics since then.

ONE OF THE LOST CORVETTES COULD BE YOURS

The excitement keeps growing because we’re giving away each of the Big Six plus thirty others in The Lost Corvettes Giveaway. Enter the Sweepstakes here with a tax-deductible donation to the National Guard Educational Foundation...

I bought my chances about a month ago.  Any one not entering helps my chances so stay off my lawn.
