March 6, 20205 yr Former Dodgers’ first-rounder J.T. Ginn underwent Tommy John surgery yesterday, Mississippi State head coach Chris Lemonis announced. The 30th overall pick in the 2018 draft, Ginn turned down pro ball to head to MSU. The 20-year-old righty shined as a freshman in 2019 and looked to be a potential high draft pick again this June as a draft-eligible sophomore. He’ll still be eligible for the draft, of course, but it’ll be interesting to see if any team would be willing to offer him enough to persuade him against returning to Starkville for his junior season.
March 7, 20205 yr Who the fuck scheduled USan Diego AT Indiana. Both of those coaches must be fucking stupid. Postponed by cold and wind. Penn State threw a combined extra-inning no-hitter and still lost to Navy: https://navysports.com/boxscore.aspx?path=baseball&id=14535
March 9, 20205 yr I know it's even kookier than normal early in the year, but the RPI has UTA #4 in the country on this: https://utamavs.com/sports/baseball/schedule/2020
March 10, 20205 yr I know it's early and the SOS is 130+ but it is nice to see how quickly Eric Wedge has turned things around at WSU. RPI is up to 27. I'm pretty sure it's fools gold at this point, the meat of the schedule will be much tougher going forward, but these are basically the ex-coaches players doing this. https://www.ncaa.com/rankings/baseball/d1/rpi Bring it on, Beau.
March 11, 20205 yr All Ivy League spring sports are canceled. https://www.baseballamerica.com/stories/sudden-season-shutdown-stuns-ivy-league-players-coaches/ Washington and others will only play in front of recruits and families. https://d1baseball.com/news/coronavirus-restrictions-reach-college-baseball/
March 11, 20205 yr It's going to be just my luck that Texas will get to the CWS and no fans will be allowed, I'll catch the virus, or old age will catch up to me, and I'll be gone by the time the season rolls around again.
March 12, 20205 yr LSU - Ole Miss series got cancelled for the weekend. Edit: SEC baseball seasons suspended until March 30 Edited March 12, 20205 yr by Js1
March 12, 20205 yr Shut it down. Nothing to see here anymore. Long live the 2021 NCAA baseball thread.
May 7, 20205 yr Fyi... May still have "Collegiate Summer Baseball Invitational", set to take place in Bryan, Texas, June 4-6. Edited May 7, 20205 yr by LTtxfan
June 4, 20205 yr https://www.collegebaseball.info/post/rosters-for-csbi ESPN 2 will broadcast the Collegiate Summer Baseball Invitational tonight at 6PM from Travis Park in Bryan. Advertised as showcase for players prior to the draft. No Texas players listed, 2 or 3 from B12. DH played tonight with following games on Fri and Sat (pay per view). Seems like the main attempt is for the promoter to make a few $$$. But will be interesting to see the fan participation and atmosphere.
