I'm really not seeing how Shea Patterson was an upgrade over Brandon Peters at Michigan.

Cal scored on 4th and goal to go up 21-10 but Illinois drove the field in 29 sec to kick a FG as time expired making it 21-13 at the half. The Illini are a plucky little team that doesn't quit. It would be great to see Lovie get a bowl win.

Ticky tack PI call but it probably wouldn't have mattered. Cal TD makes it 28-13. Tough to see Illinois winning this. Cal has better athletes. But the Illini came back from several scores down to give Michigana game late in the second half so maybe there's hope. Of course, that was a home game.

Speaking of Michigan, Cal QB Chase Garbers is slinging the ball all over the place. He throws better than either Brandon Peters or Shea Patterson. He's from Newport Beach, CA and looks more like the prototypical California QB that I would've expected Harbaugh to recruit when he took the Michigan job.

The Cal offense is getting me excited for next season. It's been a few years since I could say that.

I like Garbers but I'd take Patterson over him in a heartbeat.

I've only got this game to go on but Garbers looks pretty good. Patterson is way overrated.

Lulz at the Illini fan who can't get a high five.

Peters is a competitor, you've got to give him that.

(By "that" I mean credit for being a competitor, not the first down.)

Did you watch the Citrus Bowl? Do you still feel the same?

Hey, I'm still getting used to Garbers being good. This was the best game of his career.
