I would be okay with a Biden administration bringing in Dorsey the day he is sworn in and letting him know that his company will be fined into oblivion for its role in disseminating hateful and racist rhetoric from Trump and his cohorts. You want to speak freely? Go for it. You want to give a gigantic platform to racist remarks and rants that millions of people wound up nodding in agreement with? You deserve to be fined right into bankruptcy. Dorsey should not be let off the hook for the role he played in all of this. Excusing it because it is the president is no excuse at all.

Yeah, going to somewhat disagree with you here. As Kevwun said, Facebook is much more culpable. Dorsey has done something, at least. Granted, later than was needed but ahead of FB who still won't do shit. Additionally, the people NEED to see what the president says. I absolutely get that point. Hopefully posterity it will all be saved and rehashed and beaten into people how dangerous things were, etc. Or in other parlance, you give him the rope to hang himself.

All joking aside, I am thinking suburban Red Lobsters are gonna be the Gettysburg of December.

The last video contains hilarity when the gargantuans beating up the nerd get blindsided by the Blue Line. There is a split-second of defiance, then they're as docile as a beanbag chair.

I am no fan of Facebook either. They are equally as culpable, but Dorsey was mentioned so I commented to the culpability they have in this.

When the words of the President of the United States are being used as justification for harm and punishment of “the others” you just cannot allow that speech to find its way onto a platform where it will be used to in effect brainwash people into believing they are committing lawful acts that the president condones. If his blatant racism has led to the loss of just a single life that is one too many. We know that is not the case. Dorsey and Zuckerberg both should get fines that have the word billion(s) attached to it. They have been willing conduits that have spread a hateful and racist rhetoric that has damaged the minds of millions of people we share a country with. That in and of itself is incredibly sad.

Replace your scenario with pointing Elizabeth Warren at Facebook and Twitter and telling her to have fun.

I would be ecstatic to see Elizabeth Warren given free rein to go after them. I believe she has the ability to do more to rebuild this country post-Dotard than anyone in Washington if she is given the ability to do so.

I mean, I agree with your sentiment and outrage, I just think the likelihood of that happening or the possibility of winning the inevitable lawsuits are unlikely. But would I like to see Biden escort all those guys into his office in week 1 and talk about what he expects and wants to change out of Social Media, with a threat of fines stated? Yeah, for sure.

Ok. Well explain to me your glee in the destruction of private property for political reasons doesn't EXACTLY represent what I illustrated. I've got it wrong, you claim. Then set me straight.

It's for the paydays they'll get touring the robust Fall Book Festival circuit.  Oh wait, none of them are happening.  Then all those lucrative movie deals to distribute to Cinemark theaters.  Wait, for all the soon-to-be sell-out Broadway plays?   Dammit!  I had something for this.

He only hires the best people, except all of the times he didn’t, and in those cases he fired them if they say they resigned, or had asked for their resignation if they say they quit. Also, those that remain and are leaking are not real, but he will find them, because they are not the best people and are actually deep state even though he hired them. Needless to say he was draining the swamp when he hired them and when he did and did not fire them and then again when they reappeared on his campaign team. Fortunately none of them may immediately join a lobbying firm unless they do. In which case they are likely a future cabinet member, ambassador or unqualified judicial appointment.

Shouldn't you be out 1) calling for the murder of all democrats and 2) facing zero repercussions for it?  We live in a terrorist state, and you stand on the side of the terrorists.  Just reminding you.  So that someday, when you have a shocking moment of lucidity, you realize for a fraction of a second what a giant piece of shit you are for supporting such a giant piece of shit.

I mean....y'all are all about decrying violence, yet there are open rallies where your right wing buddies call for Democrats to be shot dead in the street:

Quote

Video has emerged showing a speaker at a rally in Salem, Oregon, urging that democratic leaders be "shot dead in the streets" for pushing a so-called "pedophile agenda" and being greeted with cheers and applause from the crowd.

The man, who has not been identified, is seen speaking at the Labor Day rally which was attended by supporters of President Donald Trump, members of far-right groups Patriot Prayer and Proud Boys, as well as believers of the QAnon conspiracy theory.

So, you know, openly calling for the murder of all of your political opponents.  Cool, cool.  I mean, shit, your Dear Leader has openly called for the imprisonment of 1) his immediate predecessor in office and 2) his current opponent.  It's not ambiguous, it's not subtle -- he has literally called for them to be imprisoned, repeatedly.  You stand with an authoritarian piece of shit, who inspires murderous chants and applause, and has actually inspired someone to go shoot up a store full of people with last names like mine.  That's your guy.  That's your movement.  Quit running away from it, you gutless piece of shit.

DOJ seeks to take over Trump defense in E. Jean Carroll lawsuit

Quote

In a court filing Tuesday, the Justice Department said Trump was acting “within the scope” of his job as president when he said Carroll lied about the incident, prompting her lawsuit. The U.S. also moved the case to Manhattan federal court from a New York state court, where a judge last month denied his request to stall the suit.

This seems very normal.

Oops, didn’t see Gil’s thread.

One anonymous guy at some rally I’ve never heard of in bum fuck Oregon said something and it applies across the country and we’re a “terrorist state”. Totally rational thought process. Not at all detached from reality. Brisket, you’re a half step above the average homeless person that yells nonsense at people passing by.

I notice you ignored:

1) your dear leader repeatedly calling for the imprisonment of his opponent and predecessor

2) your dear leader's disciple, quoting his exact inflammatory language, murdering brown people by the dozens.

And we could go on.  The fact that the fuckhole in Oregon 1) called for the murder of dems, and 2) was cheered by the crowd, who were waving Trump flags, tells is it's NOT "one anonymous guy" -- it was one guy who called for murder, and then a whole crowd who cheered it.  And you, of all people, who spends SO much injury decrying "violence and lawlessness" -- well, let's be fucking honest.  You're fine with it.....so long as it serves your team.  You don't lament this shit at all.  You don't call out alt-right violence. You don't acknowledge that every US agency examining the issue has noted that right wing violence is the greatest security threat to the US.  Nope, you are dead fucking silent on that shit.  So, add "hypocrite" to your POS resume.

You run so hard from what you are.  You should stop.  You can run from being a gutless, cowardly POS, but you'll just die a tired gutless, cowardly POS.

Gutless piece of s't supports someone who campaigned on being able to shoot somebody on 5th avenue and not lose voters.  And now his voters are taking his lead and one gutless pos is making excuses.   The man ran on violence, has doubled down on it for reelection in addition to upping voter suppression and furrowed brows.  What do you expect from his voters? That they would be different from what Trump described them as--shitty people that would support a criminal?
