February 10, 20205 yr Farthest North I've seen LO is at the HEB in Waco. Usually stop by there everytime I'm headed back up for that and other various HEBisms

February 10, 20205 yr At Restaurant Barr in Copenhagen. Did the Special Beers tasting with my dinner.

February 10, 20205 yr A nice Cantillon on tap at the end of the evening. Definitely a good destination for beer lovers.
February 11, 20205 yr SF Beer Week and Pliny the Younger season again. It may be me, but it doesnt feel like the event it used to be. Probably cause every bar in the city has it now.

Chase Healy's kid go to the same school as mine and he donates beer to most of our fundraisers. And it's usually one of the pricier ones too. Last time it was An Offering of Guava, which sells for $16 a four pack. We had a keg which we could drink off for free with paid admission. It was awesome. If you were there, Cabin Boys across the parking lot is a good atmosphere too and their beers are fine. The snobs around here turn their nose at it, but it's dumb. They make good craft beer. Marshall's next door is also really good. I think they are severely underrated because they are completely unknown outside of this city.

It's making some waves and they have a decent taproom. Roughtail makes good stuff too and they're opening a new taproom soon, will probably be open by April. I'm a fan of Anthem but never been to the taproom. There are others, I'm just not as up to speed on OKC these days as I used to be.
February 12, 20205 yr Picked up some St. Arnold's Commitment. Weird name, but turns out it's DR18 which just happens to be one of my favorite beers. Fuck yes.

I'll definitely be visiting again.I saw Marshalls and Cabin Boys, but we didn't stop in. Never heard of Cabin Boys, but Marshalls was one of the biggest names going when I lived up there. They make solid beers.
February 14, 20205 yr Shitballs. Sent from my iPhone using TapatalkGood? Tupper is one of my dentist FIL’s longtime patients. My wife runs the practice and “Tupp” brings beer that winds up in my fridge to every appointment.
February 14, 20205 yr @‘stache, did American Solera open another taproom? I’ve been to the small one that’s just South of downtown. I’ve been to Cabin Boys but it was maybe 2 years ago.

February 14, 20205 yr Wtf kind of school allows beer at their fundraisers?I take it you’ve never been to a school fundraiser. Our elementary school fundraiser is a fantastic binge drinking event.
February 14, 20205 yr St Arnold is coming out with a shit ton of new beers early this year: double art car, commitment, a blonde ale, and a juicy ipa.

February 14, 20205 yr Easy tiger? Austin? Makes sense because AISd doesn't give a fuck. I guess I live in a pretty conservative place. Carry on!
February 14, 20205 yr Catholic ones My wife works at a Catholic school and their annual golf tourney fundraiser is a shit show.
February 15, 20205 yr Buddies practice is having a fundraiser at Celestial today. Dallas Surly come thru.
February 16, 20205 yr At a PtY tapping in Denver. So many more places releasing now around the country, this is my 3rd & 4th pour!
February 16, 20205 yr Quick Austin overnight trip for my birthday. Beer highlights: Pinthouse in Round Rock has become a go-to stop on our way into town for lunch and drinks (& pick up what’s canned to bring home). Oddwood has also become a staple and has games for the kids to play. Checked out Southern Heights for the first time in a while. Good stuff as always. Austin Beerworks later on as it’s also a staple and was near hotel to boot. Sunday morning routine for a while has been to hit up Jester King right when they open at noon. Love the vibe of that place plus their beers. That new DDH IPA (especially the variant they have at the Pasture Bar with the Lotus hop) is quite tasty. On the way out of out, we went by Central Machine Works. While kinda spare that they only have two of their beers on tap (Citra Pale Ale and Pils), both were tasty and the place is really great looking. Really good food to boot. Beer nerd out
February 18, 20205 yr 8 hours straight of a surgery today that I’m paying for the opportunity to assist in prompted a bedtime vanilla noir that’s been in my fridge aging for a day like this. Edited February 18, 20205 yr by Hank_Hill
February 18, 20205 yr (512) pecan porter looks ready to go to market anytime now BUT ... it looks like they'll be boxed into four packs, which makes me assume me two things about how they'll fuck up this hype/market excitement: 1) they'll try to convince the market that this is some superduper special opportunity to OWN YOUR VERY OWN PECAN PORTER and that a beer fan should feel fortunate to even see packaging, much less six pack packaging. So, they'll try to sell us on $10.99 four packs I bet; especially given the superfluous packing. 2) Thats a lot of fuckin packaging waste for a core beer. I thought Martin House were assholes for packing two limited run cans into a huge box, and yes, Martin House sucks overall, but this seems just as bad. Its a mainstay that is probably the 2nd or 3rd most accessible beer in austin. Just give us six packs. and in cans. dummies.
February 18, 20205 yr Yea that’s silly if they’re 12oz. As you said it’s super accessible, I get it on tap up here in Dallas regularly. That said I bet people eat it up. Edited February 18, 20205 yr by Hank_Hill
February 19, 20205 yr They should put it in nitro cans.I like it when they wax the entire top of a can.
February 20, 20205 yr I'm at the Anatole for a conference and was pleased to find Peticolas in walking distance, as I've read about it on here but never been around to try it. It's amazeballs, like barleywine heaven. Is Pegasus good, or anything else nearby worth checking out? Otherwise, I'm just coming back here for the next couple nights.
