As a caps fan, I really hope they can finish it in 6.  As a sports fan, this series has been fantastic and deserves to go to a game 7.  The best thing about this outcome is that Tom Wilson will be back in a game 7 or in the opening game of the conference finals.

If it goes to 7 the caps will lose in the most spectacular fashion.

As much as I would like to see another spectacular Capitals crash I just think this season they are the better team. Penguins had more than enough chances, but couldn't get it done. It will be a very interesting Game 6.

Vegas moves on with another shutout from Fleury.

4th of this post season. 3 more puts him in 3rd all time in playoff shutouts behind Brodeur and Roy.

The big difference in this series is goaltending. Both teams have had stretches where they look like the better team. Holtby has been rock solid. Murray has been less than that. It’s going to take him tightening things up a bit or Holtby finally cracking to swing things for the pens. Both of those things are quite possible, but looking unlikely right now.

Hopefully a win tonight can put some doubt into the caps mind for game 7.

Wish the Pens held on to him. I know at the time Murray was outplaying him. But goodness, Fleury has rounded into form in Las Vegas.

Pens & Caps headed to OT.

Hold on on to your butts.

The Pens need to shoot more. The Caps goalie is just relaxing in his net.

Now that they finally made it past the pens I wouldn’t be surprised to see them storm through the rest of the postseason.

Or get swept out in embarassing fashion.

Can’t decide if I want to root for the jets or Vegas the rest of the way. Would enjoy seeing either team win it.

I really wanted the Penguins to be the first team to three-peat during the salary cap era in the NHL. But as mentioned before, they weren't nearly the team that they were the previous two seasons. Oh well.

8-2 since making the change back to Holtby.  It’s crazy to think now that he wasn’t the starter the first two postseason games, but damn he is playing lights out at the right time.

Ovi finally gets by Crosby in the playoffs and the Caps play in the conference finals for the first time in 20 years. The Bolts will be tough and I’m not sure anyone beats Vegas

(edit: number of years. It only feels like 30)

I'm just glad the last four (or five) are all decent teams that aren't the Kings/Bruins/Blackhawks/Penguins. Any of them I'd be happy with winning the cup.

I'm thinking about trying to catch a Knights game next series in Vegas (easy trip from Phx).

Wow that was a great overtime. Perfect example of why playoff hockey is the best thing going. Those guys were flying all over the ice.

Great series  -- Caps/Pens. Better team won this season.

It really was.  Caps are deep on all lines, get Wilson back.

I went to high school in DC so was a big Caps fan and went to more games than I could count.  Went to WVU and most there are Pens fans. Maybe finally a Cup for my Capitals.

I can't lie.  There was a part of me that wanted to see Pittsburgh and Boston just to see how Crosby would react to being licked by Marchand.

Nashville not waiting for the game to get out of hand. Pulled Rinne down 0-2 halfway through the first after letting up two quick goals.

Go Jets Go!

Would have liked to go into the intermission up two, but will take one.

Next goal is huge, Jets need to take the crowd out of the game.

Winnipeg and Vegas. Welp, all right then

winnipeg is going to be the definition of lit on saturday night

The speed in that series is going to be frantic.

I dunno man. I got a feeling their mojo is about to run out. Of course I am probably wrong, but I could see this being the deflation after a big first year.

Well that was fun.  The caps really need to take game 3 to kill any chance of this series getting interesting.

That was a clinic on ass kicking.

Vegas is buzzing. Damn near made it 3-0 right after going up 2-0.

Vegas with another post. Jets have to be happy to limp out of that period only down 2. Really could have gotten out of hand there.
