Jordan Whittington out for two weeks due to injury

One of the candidates to break out this season is newly converted wide receiver Jordan Whittington. After reportedly having a strong start to summer camp, the former five-star recruit will now be sidelined for two weeks thanks to an injury.   Horns247 is reporting Whittington is dealing with a hamstring injury, the fourth Longhorn to have hamstring problems this summer. Keaontay Ingram, Al’Vonte Woodard, Tarik Black, and Travis West will also be out for a couple of more weeks.

“Because players didn’t go through spring football and didn’t have a normal offseason conditioning program, there have been some more soft-tissue injuries than usual for sure,” the team source said.

Thankfully for Texas, it seems as if Whittington will be okay. With some rest, the wide receiver will be back and ready for fall camp in August.  As a true freshman, Whittington played in the season opener against Louisiana Tech but suffered an injury that kept him out for the final 12 games. The now redshirt freshman is hoped to make an instant impact in Mike Yurcich’s offense in 2020.

With the season opener against USF still scheduled for Sept. 5, Whittington is still expected to line up in the slot against the Bulls.

Apex, take it somewhere else. This is a football thread, not a "don't be a pussy, my racist jokes are actually harmless and hilarious" thread.

They explained it in the article, unavoidable consequence of shortened training schedules with less supervision. Same thing happened to all the European soccer leagues.

True, but we all know European soccer players fake injuries. In a very dramatic fashion, I might add!

Josh Moore is back.

I'm really gunning for Josh Moore. He is fast on the trigger and is ready to shoot for the stars.

Then LSU should be prepared for the season.

— Moore is a more explosive athlete, but Black has plenty of speed and almost 50 pounds on the 169-pound Moore, which could make a significant difference with blocking in the screen game, running game, or even in beating press coverage.

I know he hasn't played in a year, but is that weight accurate? He can't really play at that weight, right?

Alabama's Devonta Smith, arguably the best WR in college football, weighs 175 and does just fine.

Heck, Waddle probably isn't even 175  and I think he's better than Smith

Josh Moore recently weighed 169lbs.

"Oklahoma Sooners product Marquise Brown (aka: Hollywood Brown) measurements at the 2019 NFL Scouting Combine  came in at 5-foot-9 3/8 and a ridiculously light 166 pounds."

Well if there is one thing I know is that everyone that weighs in at 169 lbs has the same athleticism and skillset as Brown, Waddle, or Smith.  Hell lets throw in Desean Jackson in there to really hammer that point home.
