This is the thread to list your favorite moments in film that, typically subtly, pay tribute to other films or actors.  Here are a few off the top of my head.

Coming to America - Prince Akeem gives money to homeless Randolph and Mortimer Duke.

Doc Hollywood - Nancy Lee (Bridgette Fonda) asks Hank (Woody Harrelson) "is that a star?"  Hank replies, "no, that's Ted Danson."

Working Girl - Katharine (Sigourney Weaver)  returns from her ski trip with a giant stuffed gorilla.

Old School/The Graduate:  Frank takes the tranquilizer dart in the neck falling into the pool while Sound of Silence plays.

Matt Damon's in Eurotrip was awesome.  Shaved head and tatted up.  Scotty doesn't know...

Speaking of which, I watched Thor: Ragnarok with my kid this weekend, and I thought Damon's cameo as the shitty Asgardian thespian was damn funny.

Edit:  Viper beat me to it with less words.

when in the tunnels beneath the library (converted church) in the last crusade, indiana says, "it's the ark of the covenant".  she asks, "are you sure?"  and he says, "pretty sure" as the raiders theme lightly plays in the background.

Hitchcock was the master of the cameo.

Maverick, when Danny Glover plays the bank robber and he and Maverick double take while a riff on the Lethal Weapon scene plays....and then Glover walks away muttering "I'm too old for this shit"
