All of them are retired NCOs and they live at the tower with families.  Oddly, Royal Navy sailors weren’t allowed to do it until the 21st century, something to do with a difference in oaths they take.

This is as close as we got in the riverboat cruise….

Saw that series.

The raven wrangler was a pretty funny segment.

The Smithsonian Channel had a really good series a few years back on the day-to-day lives of those dudes and everyone else who lived and worked in the Tower of London.

Yet they’re absolutely fucking useless if something actually happens there. Just saying.

When I went to the Tower of London when I was in college, I had my friend take a picture of me with my head down on this stump in the middle of the courtyard pretending I was getting my head chopped off. Later on I realized that stump was what these guys stood on to do their speaking.

man, that's really something. his mom the longest reigning British monarch ever...and he's barely gonna get five years, if that. i mean, who gives a crap about the royals right, but objectively that's really kind of an incredible turn of events. and now the literal near future queen also has cancer. 😮 wow.

i'm sure Camilla is crushed for several obvious reasons, but i can't believe she's actually that bitchy about it (the tabloid quote). she stuck by and with him for a really long time thru a lot of shit, icky as some of it may have been, i really don't believe it was all just to be queen. plus The Crown showed me she's loyal and really loves him 😆

She and Charles were knocking boots in the 70s.  On the one hand, I appreciate that two long-time loves finally got together, but on the other, they were a couple before either one of them had their first marriage, and I get him going off on an overseas Royal Navy assignment put things on ice, but there was truly nothing stopping those two from marrying in the early 70s.

Yes,I remember your story about the tourist with some kind of medical problem, and the warden’s lack of proper response.

Well, approval from The Queen in charge of Royal protocol for one thing……and I’m not talking about Freddie Mercury.

She’s currently at MD Anderson

That would appear to be a bad sign if she’s having to seek out care at MD Anderson at this point.

Had too many friends and family go through there. Hoping for the best. Can’t imagine what William is going through. She has all the grace and elegance his mom did.

Would be a big blow to the institution of the British monarchy. I’m pretty sure she’s the only royal that the British public actually likes.

I have seen the pictures you post. Neither were you.

I don't wish this on anyone other than Jerry Jones.  It's really going to suck if she can't kick this.

God bless HRH Princess of Wales. She is the standard for a modern royal and is the pinnacle of class, sophistication and beauty. What a cruel world we live in.

People with her financial means don’t usually go to MD Anderson.  The doctors from Anderson, Sloan and Cleveland go to them.

CSB: a friend of ours was in Houston the past couple of months getting chemo at MD Anderson.  They're really plugged into a community that is, in turn, really plugged in to the goings on at MD Anderson.  So, she knew - before it was public - that Kate was there.  And lo and behold, one morning on the drive in for her treatment, she sees Kate and her bodyguard walking and laughing along the bayou trail nearby.  By her account, Kate was getting along fine, and laughing out loud at something her bodyguard said.  So, for what that's worth, within the last two months, Kate has been ambulatory.

Probably just that body double from before.  Don't take this one away from the crazies.

Wait, so whose blood was used to pain the portrait of King Charles?  Kate’s or the body double’s?

Neither are royal blood, so they would only use the blood that may have bits of royal dna in it from…a source.

so, both.
