January 12, 20205 yr The defending national champion Texas Longhorns 🏆 are pre-season ranked #2 in the nation, but we had a lot to replace this year as only 2 of our 6 starters from last years singles lineup returned (Sigsgaard and Ito). Chih Chi Huang is also back but he only played line 6 singles some of the time last season. We recruited an incredible freshman class featuring some of the best prospects in the US, but it may take some time for them to become reliable team tennis players. We kick off the season playing @ #1 ranked Florida on Wednesday January 15th. Will be a good measuring stick to see where we are.
January 13, 20205 yr I know Yuya feels shafted being ranked #2 in the country despite winning Oracle and ITA All American. So he's hungry this season.
January 16, 20205 yr Wow, big win. So only our top two (who happen to be two of the top players in the nation) are back from last years squad?

January 16, 20205 yr Well Huang is also back- he was in the singles lineup consistently for the first 2/3 of the season and was always in the doubles lineup
January 16, 20205 yr I think if you want to say consistent season singles players, it’s just Ito and Sisgaard. Of course he has experience with a 26-9 record last year but he wasn’t really part of the core singles lineup that won the title.
January 16, 20205 yr Author Hell of a way to start the season. In our first match since winning the national championship against Wake Forest, we go on the road to upset the #1 ranked team in the nation. With how young we are outside Ito and Sigsgaard, we'll go through some bumps in the road, but the first official match in the Burke era couldn't have gotten off to a better start.
January 17, 20205 yr Got “VIP tickets” through a coworker that’s an SMU donor for Saturday’s match. Excited to see Ito and the freshmen play.
January 18, 20205 yr Author We fall to 0-2 on the season in doubles. Last year we were bad in doubles and we still won a national championship so....thinking positive?
January 18, 20205 yr SMU spent all their energy fist pumping during the first 3 games of the first set.
January 18, 20205 yr Author singles sweep! Texas def. SMU 6-1 Gotta continue to work on doubles before the ITA regionals
January 22, 20205 yr Author Ito’s older brother is playing Djokovic at the Australian Open right now. Going how you would expect so far.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
January 22, 20205 yr Author As expected with our road win over Florida, Texas is ranked #1 in the latest ITA poll
January 25, 20205 yr Author Texas def. Indiana 4-0. We pulled out our first doubles point of the season in a tiebreaker and then the top part our lineup looked solid with Ito clinching the win.
February 1, 20205 yr Author Ohio State def. Texas 4-1. I penciled this in as a loss anyways because practically no one beats Ohio State at an indoor venue. Not to mention Bruce Berque spent his entire career at Michigan losing to Ohio State Edited February 1, 20205 yr by perfectchaos007
February 14, 20205 yr Author Texas took care of business in singles and won 4-2. The goal at the indoor championships is to win at least 2 matches
February 15, 20205 yr Weird how dominated we got in singles but won doubles. Usually other way around
February 17, 20205 yr Author Closed out the tournament with a 4-2 win over Stanford today. We won 2 out of 3 at the ITA indoors, which is a successful trip
February 17, 20205 yr You're welcome 😉 (I'm kidding, I wasn't a tennis player, but it's always great to beat Baylor)
