If they are offered another scholarship to do grad school they should probably take it. But they could each turn into top 100 players down the road.....I don't see why Ito couldn't have a career like his older brother Tatsuma, who peaked at #60 in the world. At the very least, he will get great advice from not only coach Berque but also his brother on his decision....

June 15, 20205 yr Author We’ll have a super young team next season but we Still have the talent to be pretty good. Top of the lineup won’t be money like it has been these past 4 years
June 16, 20205 yr Honestly happy for Yuya and Christian. They've got nothing left to prove and will probably one day be in the Longhorns Hall of Fame
October 24, 20205 yr Heard some interesting stuff from a little bird last night regarding the culture and happenings leading up to Center going down. Not sure I want to put it out there publicly but I'm happy to share if anyone is interested - shoot me a pm.
January 15, 20214 yr Author Defending national champs start the season tomorrow against ULL. We lost our two best players from last year who decided to go pro instead of sticking around with their extra year of eligibility, but we still have a solid young team. I think our preseason rank of #6 is a bit high for this team but I could see us competing for the Big 12 title. 5 of the 6 Big 12 teams are ranked in the top 25 and the other team is still receiving votes so it's gonna be a grind as usual.

Interesting. The ITA rankings go: 6 TCU 6 Texas 14 OSU 15 Baylor 24 Tech RV Oklahoma But the Big 12 preseason poll goes: TCU Baylor OSU Texas OU Tech
January 15, 20214 yr Author It’s a deep conference and very difficult to pin down a favorite. Not surprised at the disparity there
January 20, 20214 yr Author OKST was scheduled to visit Austin this weekend for the ITA kickoff event, but they were forced to withdraw due to covid19 issues within the program. Instead of facing Arizona for our first match, we'll play Liberty. Assuming we take care of business against them, we'll play the winner of Arizona and Florida.
January 23, 20214 yr Author Florida v. Texas tomorrow for a spot in the ITA indoor tournament. I give the edge to Florida simply because the top of our lineup is weak this season. Sigsgaard and Ito spoiled us for a few years and now we don't really have a Line #1 guy on our lineup. Case and point Woldeab only winning 4 games in his match today against Liberty
January 23, 20214 yr Author Florida sweeps us in doubles. Singles play will begin when the weather clears up.
January 24, 20214 yr Author Just now, Js1 said: They had to move indoors. Its 3-3. Spizzirri is up 3-1 in the third. Yep. Sucks I can't continue watching it. Good on Woldeab for winning his singles match though after losing to Liberty yesterday.
January 24, 20214 yr Author In a match that spanned nearly 7 hours, Texas def. Florida 4-3! What a win for our guys to qualify for the ITA indoors tournament next month.

January 28, 20214 yr Author All 6 Big 12 schools are in the top 25. 3 of them are ranked in the top 6
January 30, 20214 yr Took doubles against Baylor, including a win over their 10th ranked #1 doubles team

January 31, 20214 yr Nvm he had to step down at Baylor last year for inappropriate text messages... Wild how good Baylor and TCU are for their size.
January 31, 20214 yr Baylor's roster is filled with many athletes (four or five!) taking advantage of their fifth year eligibility whereas Texas has 0. There'll be some growing pains this season.
January 31, 20214 yr Author Yeah we're going to miss Sigsgaard and Ito a lot this year. Its also weird seeing Goldhoff with Baylor now (as a volunteer coach)
January 31, 20214 yr Author Texas def. ASU 4-1. Was a reversal of yesterday because we lost doubles but swept in singles
February 13, 20214 yr Author Last month against Baylor we won the doubles point but were swept in singles. This time we lost the doubles point but....were still swept in singles. Winning is hard
February 14, 20214 yr Author Texas def. #1 USC 4-3. We lost the doubles and were down big in singles. Down 0-3 in the overall tie at one point, but we rallied and took 4 straight. Incredible focus and belief shown by our guys today. Evin McDonalds match ended in a controversial call that went in our favor. Sometimes you need some crucial breaks to get big wins! We have a few Cali guys on our roster so this win was personal for them!
