My understanding is genes are a prominent factor.

What kind of dog?  Some breeds are much more prone to cancer than others.

Man, so sorry. Dogs are too good to deserve that.

Mine had a somewhat malignant tumor removed over the summer. He did great and was fine as soon as the wound healed. Hopefully yours is somewhat similar and hasnt spread. Best of luck to both of you.

fucking sucks.

My newfie had a broken leg.  We got out with no surgery, and it still cost me 3 grand.  The good news is he'll be close to normal soon.

Im gonna give my dog the huggiest hug the next time I see her

Losing a young dog that should have so much life left makes it so much worse. We recently lost our good girl to bone cancer, she was 5. It was horrible, we loved her so much and my wife now questions whether she ever wants to get attached to a pet again. Tragic. Fuck cancer.

sorry cth

Sorry to hear. We went through it with our last dog. Had breast cancer removed at 13/14 and ended up losing her 2 years later to a brain tumor.

This book was great and they have an active Facebook and email group. Highly recommended, it gave me a good knowledge base to talk with the vet on treatments.

Having lost a few to cancer nothing is worse.
