March 25, 20205 yr Did we postpone the draft or whatYeah took it offline until we figure out what’s going on. It’ll be set a day or two before the season starts.
March 26, 20205 yr why dont we do a draft for fun. see what happens. run some simulations of the season. something. anything.

May 16, 20205 yr We gonna do this if there is an 82 game season? I’m still in. Idk what type of setup ESPN will offer though.
May 18, 20205 yr listen, this whole "82 game season" thing is going to be so unpredictable, that i think the only fair thing to do is to award the season title/prize money to whomever had the first pick.
June 8, 20205 yr i dont think we are going to have baseball yall.Yeah this week will tell us all we need to know. Idk how a 48 game season would look in fantasy.
June 8, 20205 yr ok - i know this is crazy, but hear me out.... we do daily games. every game is its own matchup, and every day is a w or an l. if espn can't handle it, pretty sure draft kings or one of those can. thoughts?
June 9, 20205 yr that would be interesting and keep everyone engaged. would you do it like draftkings and you have a budget for each day or would you still draft a team?
June 9, 20205 yr 8 hours ago, NOMAAA said: that would be interesting and keep everyone engaged. would you do it like draftkings and you have a budget for each day or would you still draft a team? that's another interesting question. when i wrote it, i was assuming the same draft setup, but maybe if we do daily budgeted lineups, the site could just run the league as they intended and it would make life easier.
June 11, 20205 yr well i hate to be the one to throw this out there, but if we're going to do it DK style then we need to keep the draft order intact for next season.
June 11, 20205 yr also FTR i'd prefer not to do the DK style, even if it means essentially wasting my no.1 overall pick on a truncated season that's going to be completely unpredictable. i'd rather my own team, my own players, guys who nobody else can have. last year when I had guys like Ketel Marte that was a huge advantage/coup for me. i don't want every team in the league to be able to take advantage of guys like that just because the season in shorter.

"oh hey, congrats on getting the no.1 pick Derka. oh btw we aren't going to do a draft this year so you can get fucked." yeah right. you're fucking high. Edited June 11, 20205 yr by Goo Punch
June 11, 20205 yr can we get derka a trophy for winning the first pick? not one fucking person has ever said ""oh hey, congrats on getting the no.1 pick" in a serious manner ever. not ever.
June 11, 20205 yr lol ok. you're mad that you got the 9th pick and you want a cheap do-over. not happening.
June 14, 20205 yr if we do a traditional draft, then yeah, obviously we're keeping the order. if we don't - like if we do a daily draft format - then that order is gonzo forever. there are a bunch of fun quirks in daily baseball, and i've always wanted to get more into it. this could solve that issue. yes, it's not normal fantasy baseball. nothing is normal this year. we're about to witness a ~60 game baseball season. the object is to make it as fun as possible for us. with a shortened (i assume?) "spring" training scenario, injuries will be all over the place. i think ever-changeable rosters could counteract that. also there's no research that backs up high draft picks =/= high finishes. in football there is, but not baseball.

June 18, 20205 yr Looks like we are getting closer and closer to an actual season. Once it is agreed to, we can look at all the options.
June 18, 20205 yr if we're going to do a daily thing then i'd prefer to do total points/stats as opposed to H2H. i think. i mean how long would our matchups be? one day? three days? we should try and flesh all of this out before the season starts. @Fawesome will you help me tag everyone in the league so that we can get this discussion going? i'll tag a few who i can think of off top. @henrygandorf @NOMAAA @BigOrange1 @Planet Houston how we doing this y'all?
June 18, 20205 yr i agree that if (and it's a big if) we do daily, it will total points, and the closer we can get to a true draft kings format, the easier it will make our lives. remember, our commissioner is next-level incompetent.
June 20, 20205 yr we still gonna do 100 bucks or go halfsies for half seasonI would assume halfies. Between corona and the owners not moving off 60 games, don’t know if we’re gonna even have a season
June 20, 20205 yr fuck that noise, $500 entry fee for half a season. Also an option. Or you pay in relation to your draft slot. #1 = $100, #2 = 90, etc.

June 23, 20205 yr looks like we are back. how much do we all kick in for derka's draft championship? more importantly, does anyone want to run down the draft kings options and see if it will work?
June 23, 20205 yr I think $50 makes the most sense. I am still fine doing our regular setup with half the games. The good news is the last weeks of the season will still be meaningful so we can go all the way to the end without worrying about bench time scrubs. I have little interest in draft kings but if thats the route yall want to take, I get it. I will put a poll up on the main ESPN site.
June 23, 20205 yr 11 minutes ago, NOMAAA said: will there be enough weeks for everyone to play each other once? no, from my count, its only 9-10 weeks depending on start/end date
June 23, 20205 yr we either go points, not have a full schedule, or run a weekly schedule against multiple opponents. i dont think ESPN is that sophisticated though.
June 24, 20205 yr some thoughts: •how long will the regular season be? •how many weeks for the playoffs? •how many teams make the playoffs? •what is the payout structure? •is everyone still in? there are several league members who i haven't seen posting in a while

Kind of like the EPL, top of the table wins it. Espn doesn’t allow multiple opponents I don’t think; so if we did that option it would be 6-7 weeks of regular season. And a 4 team playoff for weeks 8 and 9.
