The NFL in turn needs to release the Chargers.

Oh no, Kissing Suzy Kolber seems to have vanished into the ether. I used to love their Marmalard columns about Rivers.

Not to be pedantic, but his contract is up. They just aren’t bringing him back.

There's a hot rumor Brady may go play there for 2 years.

They could have not released him and just let his contract expire out of respect for everything he has done for that franchise. But never the less the Chargers ownerships and management is a joke.

You’ve been getting into the purple drank again, haven’t you?

Stop mocking my kid plz.

Should enjoy throwing to Mehvans and Godwin. Then again his targets in SD/LA were pretty fucking good, too.

Brady, Rodgers, Brees, Roethlisberger, Eli Manning, Rivers, Flacco are all at the end of the line.

Time to pass the baton to the next gen  - Lamar Jackson, Mahomes, Jimmy G, Deshaun Watson, Murray, Allen etc.

Would you feel better if I said decided to part ways? Does that meet your standard?

Chargers are such a shit organization. It's fine that they are moving away from Rivers, but they way that they've handled it is bush league.

But he has all those mouths to feed.

Reminds me of what we thought of the BYU quarterback when he rushed for all those yards on Manny.

Looks like the Chargers can finally go get Eli

I don’t blame them for moving on. Rivers looked horrible at the end of the season.

This is not mutually exclusive with the fact that they are a terrible organization.

Not really, mostly because I hate that cliche.

But the point is, saying they released him creates confusion. The post you replied to is literally a response to a rant about the Chargers being classless for cutting him rather than just letting his contract expire. If you don’t see how some nit picky standard isn’t the point, then I don’t know what else to say.

What's Manu Ginobili doing at a KU flag football game?

Are we sure about those last 2?

One of these things is not quite like the others.

Prescott dammit!

Here are some other options:

--  Chargers move Phillip Rivers' office into the basement.  Sources report that Rivers is suspicious about the move.

--  Post a Chargers logo next to a picture of Phillip Rivers and then a jagged crack between them like they do when celebrities get divorced

--  Chargers to Phillip Rivers:  "Suck our balls!"

--  Clickbait Push Notice Style:  Chargers Moving to Tijuana???  Nah, but Phillip Rivers is gone.

They didn’t release him. They fixed the glitch

He's been a turnover machine for a while.  He single handily cost them games this year.  It's a deep QB draft and time for LA to move on.  I wouldn't be surprosed to see them try to move up in the draft while also signing Brady. It would be great for them if they could sign Brady and draft someone like Tua and let him sit behind and learn from Brady for a year or two.

FIFY

His contract technically expires at the end of the league year (March something?). They could have released him early to his benefit so he could start working on finding a new team immediately.

Something seems different about the new generation...

...and it's certainly more reflective of the demographic that actually plays the sport these days.

More than one. There’s a bunch of future Hall of Famers mentioned with Joe Flacco.

Living in CA with taxes and agents and trainers....well under 75MM net more than likely. With all those kids, I would think he planned accordingly.

Rivers isn’t going to the HOF.

He’s going to retire in the top 5 in passing yards and likely in passing TDs too. He’ll be in.

Lmao. We already had the NFC version of Philip Rivers and it never amounted to anything. Well in fact, Rivers actually got to a conference championship game so Romo was under Rivers.

8 pro bowls

400 career touchdowns (to 200 ints)

if not for 2012, would've had 12 consecutive 4000 yards season.

dude is going to stroll in there

But did he ever win anything that matters?

So he’s a lesser QB than Trent Dilfer?
