When I started going there 65 years ago they were stacked with WW2 & Korean War stuff….just piled on tables & sometimes the floor. Chuck’s Gun Shop was located a couple of blocks north of Academy on that service road. Chuck’s was burgled once in the 1960s or 70s - over 80 guns, mostly handguns, were stolen. They turned up at crime scenes for years afterwards. Yep! I loved it. It was a playground for kids that were into all that stuff. I had so much stuff from there.
November 6Nov 6 I think Alzheimer's is a better description than death. It's been on 30+ year gradual decline, doesn't resemble its old self, but you occasionally get glimpses of past glories.
December 6Dec 6 “Old Austin” - at least the 1960s version - died after Uncle Jay, Packer Jack, and Cactus Pryor passed away.
