February 12, 20205 yr Not sure why during a cold spell, I get a hankering for a Dairy Queen Blizzard. My go to is the Cookie Jar blizzard. It's a combo of Oreo and Cookie dough.
February 12, 20205 yr Heath. On a hot summer day, I'll go for strawberry/banana though too. Heath is my fave, easily.
February 12, 20205 yr Author Oreo. It's objectively the best. No need to complicate the Blizzard. That's where I've always been until the cookie jar came out. Try it.
February 12, 20205 yr man, tough question. love the blizzard. heath is my main go to. but i will go with a reece's peabo cup blizzard or an oreo blizzard every now and then to switch things up. that said, as hard as it was to not order a blizzard, i took a flyer last visit on one of these, and it was in fact, money. ** apologies for the non-blizzard talk

February 12, 20205 yr the worst is when they fail to provide the necessary amount of topping and it's mostly just vanilla ice cream with a few specks of the good stuff. resembles a sonic blast. I call it "getting blasted." always a bad omen.
February 12, 20205 yr a bad blizzard is still purdy fucking good, but your point stands...or remains upside down in a cup.

February 12, 20205 yr Why they stopped making Mint Oreo a year-round, always-on-the-menu item, I don't know, but I do know that every time it is on the menu, I'm getting it -- if I see "Mint Oreo Blizzard is back!" on the marquee, I'm pulling in whether I'm hungry or not.
February 12, 20205 yr Chocolate covered cherry. Its cherries and their dip chocolate mixed in. Fucking delicious.

Or to make sure they actually do give extra, order a combo of your toppings, say Oreo AND Reese’s.
February 12, 20205 yr I liked that “Strawberry Cheese-Quake” one they had...I think you can still get strawberries and cheesecake together. And the fruit makes it healthy

February 12, 20205 yr When I was younger we came up with the great idea of making our own blizzards. Turns out three packs of Reese’s buttercups in one home made blizzard leads to a stomach ache
February 12, 20205 yr My favorite blizzard is a chocolate custard w/ peanut butter & brownie concrete from Freddie's Steakburgers & Frozen Custard. Haven't had a DQ blizzard in 25 years or so. It was m&m back in the day though.
February 12, 20205 yr I don’t even really like Oreos that much, but the Oreo blizzard is the undisputed king.
February 12, 20205 yr Most of our summer lake trips wrap up with a Blizzard on the way back home. I think it’s the main reasons the kids want to go to the lake at this point. S’mores is alright along with any cookie dough combination they have at the time. My kids get an Oreo and an M&M like clockwork.

February 13, 20205 yr Whoppers is also underrated. It’s like a malt, but with the texture of the little pieces of malt balls.
February 13, 20205 yr Heath. I haven’t been to a DQ since probably 2001 or so, but see they have a snickerdoodle flavor now soooooo this weekend I’ll go. Some of the ones here don’t serve food, it’s weird.

February 13, 20205 yr So far it seems like top 3 are butterfinger, Heath, and Oreo. Alphabetical order ofc there
February 13, 20205 yr What I've learned is that you can apparently get 2 flavors in one blizzard. I had never even thought of that.

February 13, 20205 yr I love butterfinger and heath but they get stuck in my teeth something crazy. My go to lately is a Reese’s blizzard with peanut butter added. Yummmm Bob Wills may still be the king, but there’s no longer a dq in mexia.
