Hatch burger is quite good, but they still need to bring back the Monterrey melt and keep it on the menu.

Make it the A1 Thick and Hearty

truth.

A1T&H > MM

the monterrey melt is always orderable because they have the ingredients.  you just may have to audible it from something else.  the green chile burger isn't always orderable because they don't stock green chile year round.

A1 Thick and Hearty is the goat, surprised it hasn’t been back in awhile. I did see Dairy Queen offering their own A1T&H sauced burger last year,  but I doubt something like A1T&H sauced burgers would be exclusives.

FYI - I can't vouch for it because I've not yet had one, but Whataburger now has the BBQ Bacon Burger back for a limited time.  Looks tasty.

Been here almost 11 years and it's not bad. Better than some other places I've lived. It's not Texas, and we'll move back when we retire.

I ordered my regular #1 but subbed that smokehouse cheddar or whatever it is for American and it was strange. Texture and taste just didn’t seem right. It’s my fault for messing with a classic.

The other day I ordered a double meat with shredded cheddar, grilled onions and bacon. Supplied my own A1 thick and hearty sauce to the top bun and added their jalapeno ranch to the bottom bun. It was absolute heaven.

I made sure to get an extra workout in that week.

How’s the bbq bacon burger?

I enjoy it. and I know my opinion carries a lot of weight around here.

Does a futureman add mayo to an already bbq sauced burger?

negative. I like the mayo paired with the acid of the tomato. if it’s just cheese and bacon the bbq sauce is fine.

I never knew it took 175 people to staff a Whataburger. Seems a bit high.

If it took any less, it would take 40 minutes to get your order instead of 30.

Open 24/7. Easily 10 people per shift. Figuring they’re all full time and working 8 hours that’s 21 shits to cover a week. Never thought of it that way but 175 seems about right.

Also, my last three orders have been bbq bacon burger with no mods and I must say that shit is absolutely delicious. Only thing I’d change is A1 sauce. BRING THAT SHIT BACK!!!!

So, first, there is no way that most shifts have 10 people working there.

2nd, even if there is, your math is way off.

Even if it's not "A1", it can't be that fucking hard to get a copycat steak sauce.

Not what I ordered at WB. How is it off? 24 hours in a day so calling it three shifts a day. So 21 shifts a week. Maybe 10 is high for all day but even at 6 people per shift that’s 126 man shifts a week.

Does it automatically come on Texas toast or you sub out? Looks better than the other pic above.

Because employees will work more than 1 shift a week. You’ve just multiplied the number of shifts by six.

Sub. Nearly all specialty burgers are better on toast, I've found.

Sister who was an assistant manager at Whataburger for a while says main shift at Cinco Ranch had 15-16 on staff. Rural areas and overnight have fewer, of course.

Admit defeat on that.

Yep. Going with Texas Toast is a must, IMHO.

I tried the BBQ bacon today. Unimpressed.

I'd think I'd give up a leg to have unimpressive burger from whataburger right now, with spicy ketchup, and fries.

Lately, my go to has been an Avacado Bacon Burger, with extra meat and grilled onions and peppers.  Tasty.

My last 3 trips to Whataburger have sucked.

Luke warm food and missing fries.

I am done. The DQ next door (Georgetown) is much better.

Also the buffalo chicken strip sandwich is back. Upon further review you can probably order that at all times by making your own in the app, but that's not important right now.

Most of the time they’ll just make it for you if you ask. Sometimes they get all proper and say it’s not on the menu and you have to do the substitutions song and dance. It’s better on Texas toast, too.

I remember a brief period after the most recent discontinuation of A1TH that they had a generic steak sauce as an option on any sandwich, but not in the last 18+ months. They have about 12 gd sauces on their menu and none of them can be steak sauce????
