February 16, 20205 yr “Tony’s Lab” (can’t paste link from this damned iPad) American- born, German-educated doctor became a saboteur agent for the Germans even before the US entered the war. His unprecedented germ warfare efforts killed thousands of horses before they could be shipped to the Allies. He met an ironic end though. Interesting read.
February 16, 20205 yr I was going to trot out (hehe) the tired old trope, “What was he like?” since Brat is so old, but the math doesn’t work out. You probably served with his dad, right? Quote (Anton) Dilger was born on a horse farm, named Greenfield, near Front Royal, Virginia, on February 13, 1884. He was the son of Hubert Dilger, a German immigrant and a U.S. Army captain who had received the Medal of Honor for his service as a horse artillery officer at the Battle of Chancellorsville in the spring of 1863.
