February 18, 20205 yr I'm reading With the Old Breed a WWII book written by EB Sledge. Twice now, one of the other soldiers is described as Asiatic. I know this would normally mean of Asian origin; however, it seems to have a different connotation when using context clues. Something possibly along the lines of an outcast, loner, or weirdo. Google searches have not helped.
February 18, 20205 yr Author Found it. Sorry for the useless thread. Used by US Marines in the Pacific during WWII. Refers to Marines who begin to act similar to local natives as a result of too much time spent on the islands or the stresses of combat
