It’s a ninja, and is an indoor grill/griddle/air fryer. Base heater element is the grill, griddle fits on top of that, then the fryer basket sits on top of the griddle. I like it overall. Wasn’t sure at first (it was a gift a few years ago), but it’s been pretty good. I’ve made all kinds of shit with it. Of course as you can imagine, it’s possible for it to get a tick messy, depending on what you’re cooking. Anyway, I’ve done grilled type stuff (brats, chops, burgers, chicken, etc), smash burgers, breakfast, enchiladas, casseroles, whatever. And that’s just the grill/griddle. Air fry stuff has been wings, corn dogs, mozzarella sticks, fried chicken, fried chops, and stuff like that. For two, it’s really pretty good and very versatile. There’s a slight learning curve, like heating up something with a sealed cover (like a tray where you peel back a corner to vent) that can get sucked off (ha!) from the convection. So extra caution, use foil, wrap tight and poke a hole, etc. There may be better, but this works well and no real complaints.

September 22Sep 22 Has anybody tried the vacuum sealers that seem to have recently hit the market that are handheld, USB charged and have the reusable bags? My mom was raving about this thing to me. I've got to admit, it seems like I would use it a lot more often than my big ol Foodsaver. https://a.co/d/6jaS7E4
September 22Sep 22 Essentially looking to replace two old counter top appliances in one, don’t need griddle/grill or silly smart shit… just something this is medium size (10-12 wings or basket of fries), not a messy disaster, and won’t burn the house down. that instant pot looks like it might just work. September 22Sep 22 Had a second Intant (instapot brand) airfryer crap out. handle fell off - plastic screws. No replacement parts available. New has a door closure failure. Thinks it is always open and wont work. They are off my list. Ninja or Breville the preferred? *did find a youtube video replacing the switch so may try that first for a $5 part
September 22Sep 22 We have the Breville Smart Fry and are happy with all it does EXCEPT for the air fry function. The air fry is ok, but just never seems to get a really good crisp/crunch on the food. Maybe my expectations are too high.
September 22Sep 22 I purchased one of these earlier this year - Typhur Dome. I love it. It takes a fair amount of counterspace, but the footprint allows for a large tray that can hold a pizza and other food in a single layer. The basket style air fryers seem counterproductive when you have to stack food. I use it all the time for salmon, fries, chicken, and vegetables. I've made beef jerky a few times and used the dehydrator for making dried Thai chiles. Clean up is easy because it has nonstick ceramic coating throughout. I already had a Typhur wireless thermometer and both devices connect to an app on the phone.
September 22Sep 22 I have a breville microwave/airfryer/oven combo that works well. The capacity is fine for a family of four but not anything beyond that.
September 22Sep 22 I have an older Cuisinart air fryer/toaster oven that's great. I've made whole Thanksgiving sides in it, and even made actual fried chicken on the bone with it. Had it since 2018 and we use the HELL out of it https://www.cuisinart.com/air-fryer-toaster-oven-with-grill/TOA-70NAS.html Gotta get the one with actual physical knobs/dials - the digital screen ones have terrible controls Edited September 22Sep 22 by Captainant
September 22Sep 22 Our built-in microwave shits the bed about every 3 months, I've stopped fixing it and bought a countertop. I just noticed this weekend that it has an "air fryer" mode. Will try and report back. I assume it sucks. Edited September 22Sep 22 by jimmyjazz

Putting this here as a timestamp to see how long it keeps its (actually pretty good) nonstick properties and also how long it takes my wife to absolutely ruin it by putting it empty on a burner cranked to high and walking away it’s supposed to be noncoated nonstick, carbon steel with aluminum sandwiched in. Seems nice, although I’m just having a good time cooking on my lodge comal with a bit of butter Thanks for the rec. Giving the 12" fry pan a go. Initial impression is it cooks great, cleans easily. It's very flat and has very low edges, qualities 180° opposite the 12" pan we already have so they'll make a great pair.

I worked some dough a bit hard with ours for a bit and noticed some grease leaking at the seam and looked it up. Yes, service involves replacing plastic gears that get worn out and regreasing. Not the worst DIY by the looks of it (you can buy kits), but really more grease than I want to deal with on a Saturday. Still haven't done ours and it keeps humming along.
November 26Nov 26 Mine has a metal gearbox/gears. Do you remember if they have parts for those as well? (see why I still have it?)

The good: It is SO much more convenient than grabbing the FoodSaver out of the closet, cutting a bag off the roll to the right size, etc. I use the thing CONSTANTLY. Game changer for storing food, but also the clear ice that I make and use for cocktails. They don't get the freezer fuzz all over them like they do when I put them in a regular ziplock. The bad: the bags are very prone to losing their ability to seal, and it's hard to tell why. Not sure if something gets in the ziplock mechanism, if the valve fails, or whatever. But they are too expensive to use a couple of times then toss. I still have multiple bags left, and am torn as to whether I will buy more once they all fail.
November 27Nov 27 You can do that? No shit? Grandpa may have done a little on it, but I’ve had it 25 years and well, didn’t know that was a thing. One of my coworkers mentioned ordering something to fix his wife’s earlier this year.

Reliable, local small-appliance repair isn't as prevelant as it once was. And this is one of those things I don't want to mess with. Also, that Ooni Dough kneeding machine looks amazing, but not going to grab one at the current price. The KA Mixer does well enough and I can hand kneed if I have to.

Brown (coppertone), avocado, burnt orange, and harvest gold. The colors of the 70’s.
November 27Nov 27 My folks went hard on the harvest gold for appliances. On the other hand, that 30 year old side by side fridge/freezer was still working like a champ when it got sold in the estate sale in 2001 after my dad passed. Probably still working, unlike today's disposable appliances.
November 27Nov 27 Thanksgiving MVP goes to our new warming oven. Not having to time everything and getting to sit outside and feed the smoker while drinking bloody Marys is the only way I want to do Thanksgiving from now on. Yeah, I should have washed the racks so it didn't fill our garage full of smoke. But it worked itself out.
November 27Nov 27 will it fit a full steam pan? I think we discussed these a while back, but definitely something on my list.
November 28Nov 28 Vitamix on sale for $299 on Amazon right now. Worth it?Anyone have a vita-knockoff from Amazon?
November 28Nov 28 will it fit a full steam pan? I think we discussed these a while back, but definitely something on my list.It has a water pan? But I think what you're asking would be best answered by saying it will fit a sheet pan, and shelves easily can be removed to accommodate taller pans. I'm still playing with dial temperature vs thermostat temperature. But it exceeded expectations on the super bowl of cooking.

December 2Dec 2 After Thanksgiving weekend concluded, I realized we were out of some "legit kitchen accessories." So today, I ordered 24 32-oz. Deli Containers with lids, a masking tape dispenser, and 3 rolls of green masking tape to label leftovers. The lids fit all sizes, and they stack so well. Our Tupperware-type stuff is wearing out and disappearing and probably won't reappear and finding a matching lid always was a pain.
December 2Dec 2 I need to do this again myself. As a note, I’ve found painters tape works as well and comes off easier. I make a small fold at one end to give me an even easier time getting it off. Black sharpie shows well with it, and can be either 3M or Frog Tape. I’ve used both.

December 3Dec 3 7 hours ago, Post Oak said: What's the brand on that thing and where did you get it? Cammoo, which I belive may be Chinese for "never heard of it." But it was well reviewed and a bit cheaper a few months back from its current $299 price tag. It's also really robust. They have lots of different models/sizes/configurations and Cambro-style transport warmers. My first experience involved a lot of food. So I was playing with the dial to keep things around 150F. In other words, the random numbers on the dial didn't line up precisely with the thermostat (apparently near the middle rack). I may have to use a remote-probe thermometer to dial it in, but for what I was doing on Thanksgiving, a 10 degree differential wasn't a big deal. If I'm holding a brisket or some such, I'll probably employ some extra technology to keep an eye on things. But I also didn't have any water in the pan, which probably helps serve as a heat sink. For the $260 or so I paid, I'm very happy with it. https://www.amazon.com/Commercial-Stainless-Single-Tempered-Adjustable-Countertop/dp/B0DZWTJZBL/ref=sr_1_18?crid=212WTEUQFY9G0&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.ZRSxhS-30eArF1n8J0YPrzotr3GpHEo2bqPsng_mKBFRXNT9lZGD6-HmAHcbp45Rr6DEifGej0KlOzsB1Iltzneed3ywtmqjH-PU_SgQWAdR58BxWhRXB8d9fJ6JPJfyXgJnKnyIBmfuiHDfFng7H8CkYGx19oQzsUjXqN_mhMrRdUwbFc68Zgr9PR8bw9MY6_r2eRx8zWVEAypj05ekJ0odo0aAF_8ppZrJGyUSAdiDq8Bzjocdt2kjQLZ8NW7tiuwWXglkPub3wKQZGD-T7uiKnS6RqzhfDDbSFyeeWkw.Kn_jfB-sAQaaAWKtjZD0iv3PwQRFemv6XM4HR3mxwtE&dib_tag=se&keywords=cammoo&qid=1764732937&s=home-garden&sprefix=cammo%2Cgarden%2C340&sr=1-18 Edited December 3Dec 3 by dcbc
