See, that's where you and I differ.  I hope Baylor goes 0-12 every year, and gets left behind in the next round of conference realignment like it should have been in 1996.

Or rape. They really like rape. Like campus-wide. That’s what kept them from NCAA sanctions. No special treatment was provided to football players by covering up their rapes because EVERYBODY was raping.

Much like the fictional Derry, Maine, there is an ancient and powerful evil under the surface of Waco, Texas. Occasionally it bubbles up and manifests in the physical world- a gunning down of an editorialist, a murder by a spirit group at halftime of a Baylor/A&M game, Branch Davidians, Dotson murder, Baylor football rapes, Twin Peaks shoot out,…

Well said about Waco.
Which editorialist?

Oh yeah, I know all about The Iconoclast. I've told this story before, but indulge me.

The woman is my stepmom, great grandaughter of James Harris. The man on the right is the great grandson of Judge Gerald. He was in my 2nd wedding and is one of my closest friends. He and his wife, and my dad and stepmom traveled the world together, lifelong friends.

One night while enjoying a fine Italian dinner I asked Gerald what he had been doing, and he replied “well, I was in Waco doing some research as my ancestor was in a gunfight with a newspaperman named Harris.” my stepmom paled and said “ wait, my ancestor was killed by a judge in Waco”

I stood up and said “Yall need to hug this out right this minute”

All because then president of Baylor, Rufus Burleson, took in an orphan who ended up pregnant.

Berenstain Bears Story...

#Baylor HC Dave Aranda was asked a question about their approach to defend big plays. The media room then got a lesson on the Berenstain Bears.

"I knew, but I didn't know, how different I was," Aranda said. "You live up in your head. So when you do talk, and you let it be known where you're at, what you're thinking and you have that kind of disconnection, that can be quite scary."

Full article... Why Baylor's Dave Aranda is unlike any college football coach you know

Holy shit the "Hits Just Keep on Coming" from Aranda... talks about throwing midgets and Wolf of Wallstreet

Baylor’s Dave Aranda just gave one of the most bizarre answers to a question I think I’ve ever heard

IT only came back every 27 or so years.  Whatever lives under Waco is far hungrier or has sleep issues.  We just need a neutral pronoun for this entity that isn't IT.  Or any word really.  I just don't want to spoil a great book with Baylor/Waco.

Remember that Key and Peele Anger translator bit?  Aranda needs a Narnia translator.

And I was counting on Baylor to embarrass Corch Freeze and the Auburn Plainsmen on Friday night in Game One at Waco. This does not bode well.

CFB coaches doing drugs now???  Traylor watching Avatar and Aranda "Wolf of Wallstreet" throwing midgets discussions...

UTSA coach Jeff Traylor says his team gets some kind of superspiritual power with its connection to fans at the Alamodome. Said he just watched Avatar and it's a similar connection to the Na'vi and their home tree.

Aranda has always seemed a little off. I like him as a defensive coach. But there's something naturally sinister about him. He reminds me of Arnold Vosloo in 'The Mummy.' His robotic speaking style is bizarre. It kind of feels like you wouldn't be too surprised if he was giving an interview and a beetle scurried out of the corner of his mouth, crawled across his chin and entered back into the other corner while he continued talking without acknowledging it.

I think Aranda will incorporate them like henchmen. Imagine the intimidating visual of Aranda standing on the sideline with that dead-eyed vacancy in his soul while he's surrounded by a dozen smirking dwarves.

I have a good friend, the one who created the Greg Davis 3rd & 5 image, who is absolutely terrified of midgets. The picture you just conjured is getting texted to him, right now.

WACO, Texas — Baylor head football coach Dave Aranda opened his 2025 fall camp press conference on Monday with a public apology for comments he made last week at the Texas High School Coaches Association convention, where he used a derogatory term while referencing a scene from the film "The Wolf of Wall Street."

“I wanted to say, last time we spoke, I had a misstep and hurt a bunch of people, so I apologize for that,” Aranda said. “That was not what I intended to come across, so I’m sorry for that.”

As of Wednesday, Baylor University had not issued a separate statement addressing the matter.

From time to time I’ll wear a Baylor quarter zip in the NE and people will ask me if its Boston University. Plus isn't a part of owning a trademark the responsibility of enforcing it? IIRC that's why the Aggies sued the NFL Seahawks over the twelfth man thing.

I dunno, could be an interesting tussle.  Both pretty clearly entitled to use BU, the question then becoming a) is the interlocking design sufficiently distinctive and b) is anyone actually confused as to origin, sponsorship, or approval of his or her goods, services, or commercial activities by another person.

I think the answer to b) is a fairly resounding:

shooter-mcgavin-no.gif&f=1&nofb=1&ipt=dd

Probably also the answer to a), as well. But the "property theory" of trademarks is likely to come into play.

Like most trademark cases, this will probably settle.

Unless there's a lot of raping going on at Boston University, I think the answer is no.

Somehow, you twits have made the subject matter of bagging on Baylor boring. A fucking trademark discussion among lawyers is where we’ve landed?

If anyone knows about taking something without consent, it's Baylor

#891

I think the biggest problem is that Boston used side by side letters forever and only started using the interlocking letters in 2015. It’s weird they’re so hung up on something that has no history for them and which they clearly copied. It’s literally identical.

I'll take this opportunity to answer the question posed in the thread title:

Baylor is full of people who support state-sponsored rape. They all suck and enough bad things can't happen to them.

The settlement of the opposition is not a public document, but it appears that Baylor failed to explicitly curtail use of the interlocking BU, despite your summary of usage above appearing to be accurate.

Another super-bizarre thing, Baylor applied to register a block black interlocking BU for educational services in about 2020 on an intent-to-use basis, meaning they did not claim that they had used it.  They eventually filed a statement of use claiming first use in 1931.  That's a big ol what the fuck.

Boston U also extended time to oppose that registration, but ultimately did not oppose.

Bit of a clown show on both sides, despite Pirkey Barber repping Baylor.

Well, since you didn't specify trial, I'm not sure what you're waiting for...statistically there's probably 3-4 women being raped on Baylor's campus right now.
