April 25Apr 25 Brooke is our regular waitress- she’s from Austin. I’ve never asked her if she knows any of you dumbasses.
April 26Apr 26 Barolo Grill still great? We are looking for a nice spot to have a meal with friends this week.Annette. It's in Stanley Marketplace outside Denver proper, but I love that place.
April 27Apr 27 Barolo Grill was excellent. Would recommend. Also things got a little sketchy downtown after the avalanche game was over. Saw a couple people get kicked out of union station by security when we were having drinks there.
April 27Apr 27 Need to put Barolo on the list. For evenings Cherry Creek or LoHi are much better than downtown. Successful night - Nuggets and Avs both won - hey hey hey!

April 27Apr 27 The only time downtown Denver sucked was in the middle of 2020 when 8 out of 10 storefronts in LoDo/5points were shuttered. But given how miserable of an individual you seem to be all across this board I challenge that you would claim just about anywhere sucks.

Haven’t been to downtown proper in a couple of years due to it being sketchy. We usually end up in LoHi, Cherry Creek or RiNo when we’re in Denver. Have had a great time in all those areas. Sorry you think I’m a miserable individual. I’m actually quite happy and I think you’re a good poster. Blessings, my friend.

April 28Apr 28 Love Barolo Grille. Used to live in Cherry Creek right behind it when my wife did her internship and residency from 1999-2003. Our garage backed right up to it. Our old house was torn down about a year after we moved back to Dallas. Loved living in Denver.

April 29Apr 29 Downtown Denver was very clean, only saw a few homeless people. Drunk hockey fans were the worst thing we saw over several days of going out. We went to a concert at the Bluebird Theater on Friday night that was great. Saw 2 opening acts and then The Velveteers. They have 2 drummers. Both were good, but one of them was born a few decades too late. He was insanely good and gave off a strong Keith Moon vibe. Edited April 29Apr 29 by kevwun
April 30Apr 30 i've only been here about three years, but i think the thing with downtown proper is there doesn't seem to be a huge entertainment/nightlife scene there. some restaurants and bars but definitely not like Austin with lots of nightclubs, live music, people on the streets, etc...more shopping, hotels and such. we go to a couple of restaurants we like down there but it always seems pretty dead at night. having said that, we've never encountered anything overtly sketchy or threatening there. and it is really nice during the holidays with all the lights and such (i love Denver Christmas season... which legitimately lasts until the end of January!) honestly the observable homeless/drug problems were much more obvious in Austin. here... it's mostly Colfax areas that are exciting in that regard...'there's always something going down on Colfax!' 😄 i do think the mayor has done a pretty good job tackling the difficult issues with that, we have actually seen improvement since we've been here. but downtown Denver really seems pretty tame.
April 30Apr 30 As someone who lives 2 blocks off Colfax (west side at Sheridan), that shit is wild sometimes, but highly entertaining. And the homeless people love to compliment my dog; they've never been anything but nice to me when we walk on Dry Gulch or walk to Sloan's and pass them
April 30Apr 30 I lived in downtown Denver at 19th and Arapahoe and learned to hate it pretty quick. Sloan’s Lake was always a nice walk. Edited April 30Apr 30 by StassneyHorn
