I don't blame her one bit.  Such a terribly run Olympics.  How can she perform her best when the vault is that crowded?

Let’s go Allyson! That would be incredible if she can pull this off. Two minutes until her race

She didn’t even have to go into the next gear. Dayum!

87% humidity. And running. Doesn’t sound fun to me.

High humidity is beneficial to the short sprints. Can’t remember the science behind it but it’s definitely a thing. I don’t know if it would apply to the 400 but it is definitely favored for the 100/200.

Women's long jump final featuring Tara Davis is starting live on CNBC.  They'll be bouncing back and forth between the jumps and heats on the track I believe.  Or you can wait and see probably two or three jumps total on NBC primetime tomorrow night.

NBC just tried to squeeze in a 15 second ad during a short review and completely missed the match point in the third set between SUI/Brazil in beach volleyball. Well done, guys.

It's a shame about van Niekirk.  He tore up his knee playing rugby and didn't even make the final of the 400.  His WR run was one of the highlights of the Rio games for me.

This is a really strange argument and makes me wonder if y'all understand how Olympic representation works. I'd guess at least 20% of the athletes every 4 years weren't even born in the country they are representing. Who cares.

I care, at least somewhat.  Countries like Qatar make a mockery of the whole thing.

I'd care more about that if they had more than 2 medals.

I really don't care for Laura Ludwig's "defensive kills" (Germany, Beach Volleyball).  Yeah, it's legal, and it's effective, but it's still shitty.  Glad they lost, & not just because they were playing the US.

Did Tara start a ~thing~ with the clapping going before they run? I didn't see anyone do it until she did and now they all are.

If so, I like it 🤘

If you watch on the NBC Olympics app for Apple TV or Roku, you can watch the individual event feeds with no commentary or the main track feed with British announcers who I assume aren’t on the NBC feed. There’s no cutting away to other sports, interviews and bullshit.

Tara Davis finished in 6th place in the long jump. Great showing for her.

If you haven’t watched Snoop and Kevin Hart do commentary, it’s actually pretty funny (take an edible first).

Women’s 400m hurdles final gonna be crazy!

Men's about to start now

Holy shit, he just took 3/4 second off the WR!  What a race.

Benjamin came  VERY close to faulting.     he barely touched the last hurdle in the OTHER lane, and was about 2 inches from crossing the lane line.

The crazy part is Benjamin set an American record 😮

he literally beat the former WR by more than a half second.... and still lost by more than 2/10s

damn that Norweigan was flying.

I think that has been the coolest moment of the Olympics for me so far. Holy shit that was fast.

That 400m hurdles was fast af.

45.94 is fucking fast without hurdles.... That would be top 20 NCAA 400m.

Norwegians have an extra tendon or something...

Sucks to see us have to settle for silver, but that was great race against an absolute specimen of an opponent. Hope to see the ladies crush the field in the 400 hurdles.

We tuned in right as the 400m hurdles was about to start. What a race. Absolutely shattered the WR.

Hope the women’s matchup between McLaughlin and Muhammad can match it.

USA v. Spain is tied 43-43 at halftime. Hopefully the US kicks it into gear in the second half....our rebounding is atrocious

Tara Davis looked great in the LJ finals. Can't wait to see her compete again in 2024.

Rubio played almost the best game of his life yet USA def. Spain by double digits. 🏀

sure looks like team USA has found their identity

Spoiler

Gabby Thomas with bronze in 200M. The Jamaican woman who won the 100M and both 100M and 200M last Olympics did it again. Strong effort, Longhorn!
