March 25, 20205 yr Anyone else watching this? It's really well done. The most recent episode was about Chris Benoit. Interesting, but hard to watch.
March 25, 20205 yr I watch this show also. Last season the Von Erich episode was heart wrenching as they followed Kevin around talking about his brothers

Unfortunately, there’s a lot of material for someone doing a show about the dark side of wrestling. Hell, Vince McMahon is the biggest success story, and you could probably do a whole season on how fucked up he is, to say nothing of the truly sad cases. It's on the Vice channel and the second season just premiered last night. I highly recommend. Even if you're not exactly a fan of wrestling. Hell, I haven't watched in 20 years, but the stories of their lives and backstage are fascinating. Edited March 25, 20205 yr by lateshow
March 26, 20205 yr Yep, I haven’t watched since the WCW days on channel 21 on Friday nights in DFW. That Von Erich episode last season was crazy good. All 6 season 1 eps are available on VICE On Demand, only an hour each. Benoit was the first 2-hour one.
March 26, 20205 yr It was very well done and pretty gut-wrenching. weird thing personally for me is that I met Nancy and first husband Kevin Sullivan at a gas station in Daytona when I was there for spring break in 1990 (he was quite proud to let me know she was his wife) , and also met Guerrero and Benoit at a 24 Hour Fitness probably about 2003 in Houston. Eddie was legit cool as hell and just as everyone described him Chris was very guarded. Very tragic tale for sure
March 26, 20205 yr Enjoyed every episode. Looking forward to rest of season 2Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
March 26, 20205 yr The Benoit episode was lengthened for TV, they pandered to too many interviews. Glad they appear to be going back to the one-hour formula now.
March 31, 20205 yr Don’t have the first clue who New Jack is, but the guide info sounds fun. Quote One of the most feared and controversial wrestlers of all time, New Jack's career reads like a criminal rap- sheet. Revealing the man behind the monster and his hardcore legacy.
April 1, 20205 yr I'd never heard of him either. Holy shit about the reverse Rodney King bit and then calling the NAACP home-grown monkeys.
April 2, 20205 yr Benoit was a pretty guarded guy for sure. Sad story. Both Eddy and Benoit's bodies fluctuated often. Steroids were very helpful

April 4, 20205 yr Ho lee fuk, just watched New Jack, that shit was way fucking crazier than I expected. Think this series is even better for people that don’t follow wrestling anymore, because a lot of this shit is brand-ass new.
April 4, 20205 yr A Vince McMahon biopic is going to make for a GREAT movie one day. Hope it’s done correctly.
April 10, 20205 yr Well, the Brawl for All episode was certainly interesting. Next week is Superfly Snuka’s young girlfriend’s death, should be good.
April 13, 20205 yr If you have your DVR set to record all new episodes, you’re probably fucked tomorrow. For whatever reason, it’s listed as ‘The’ Dark Side of the Ring, so may want to double check.
April 17, 20205 yr That episode actually sucked, but no one is watching anyway. Good one for the DVR to miss.
April 17, 20205 yr I've been watching off and on. The ones I've seen were strong to quite strong. I quit following wrestling after the VonErichs other than seeing WWF(E?) promo stuff with Hogan, etc on network shows. All this is new to me other than recognizing a name here and there. April 17, 20205 yr So if you absolutely, positively need to kill someone and get away with it you can do a lot worse than Allentown, PA
April 17, 20205 yr I'm still enjoying it. Jericho is good as the narrator in these. He could have a 3rd career doing voice over.

April 22, 20205 yr The Dino Bravo one last night was pretty good. Bootlegging cigarettes, serious business. Also, his daughter...would.

April 29, 20205 yr Yeah, that was a good one. I never knew the guy that slapped Stossel went on to become a badass bounty hunter.
April 29, 20205 yr I could listen to Jim Cornette talk wrestling business and history all damned day.

April 29, 20205 yr After listening to Stossel I understand the overwhelming impulse to bitch slap him

May 1, 20205 yr There were also some series on Fox Sports which highlighted some of the wrestlers from the past. One was the Undertakers best WrestleMania moments, and the other one was on Shawn Michaels.
May 2, 20205 yr There's an episode about the road warriors in a couple weeks. Hopefully they cover the early part of their career when they were as over as anyone has ever been and not just focus on when Hawk was too far gone to be out there
May 6, 20205 yr We're not talking about South Carolina snaggle tooth call girls, we're talking about Hollywood honies.
May 7, 20205 yr I am really enjoying this show although last nights was kind of boring. Sadly, I remember watching the UWF for a brief period but must have been too young to understand how crappy it was. I also watched the one with the brawl for all deal where the WWE guys boxed each other. I don’t remember that whole angle but I enjoyed the episode way more than the cocaine and cowboy boots deal. As long as the episode has Jim Cornette talking I am really interested because anything that guy says is great.
May 7, 20205 yr I really liked the episode. I’ve known at least a little bit about all the stories thus far, except this one. Don’t remember the upstart UWF, much less it’s coke fueled, prostitute loving, Vaseline/oil smeared owner. But it’s the perfect wrestling story
