This is his chance to prove that he's on LeBron's level. For the first time in a long while, he's on a team where if he doesn't play well, they lose. Period. Heck, even a few bad plays, and they lose. It's all on him. LeBron has dealt with that game-to-game pressure for all but ~3 years of his career. We'll see how KD handles it.

Durant is nowhere close to Lebron. He never will be. He's desperately waiting until Curry comes back so he can go back to piggy backing on his play and success. It is why he went there in the first place. To just blend in to get some rings since that was never going to happen being one of the main guys.

you forgot to call him a bitch.

Your idea of the way that professional athletes operate and think is frighteningly childish. I’ve said it before, but there is literally no difference in the way you think/see the world and the way that a 13 year-old thinks/sees the world. And you’re 35. It’s embarrasing.

Vic thinks all fuckidy and such. KD left OKC because Russ is a dumb basketball player and he wanted to play with someone who is looking to better themselves. Russ is one of the few uber talented basketball players who hasn't improved his game at all. He seems like the kind of guy who absolutely isn't open to feedback either.

Vic then goes out and dusts off his Lebron 2011 card by saying he just wants to ride the coat tails of others. How did that work out for you?

For what it's worth, 538 thinks Portland finishes with 49 wins, Utah with 48, then Minn, SA, OKC, and NOP occupy 4-8 spots with 47 wins each (Denver gets left out at 46).

Big tanking result: Atlanta wins in Boston today. Fortunately for the Hawks, Dallas still has to play the tank maestros, Phoenix.

Orlando looms with three games remaining against playoff teams.

Orlando decided to field a G League squad to end the year too.

Also, the Grizzlies winning today secures the best lottery odds for the Suns.

Suns could have 3 first rounders - their own (which will be top 5), the Heat (thanks to Goran Dragic), and the Bucks (but only if the Bucks land between 11-16 - kind of a weird lottery protection).

If they can get Ayton & SGA to pair with Booker and Josh Jackson...well, they'll still be bad for the next couple years, but maybe in a few they'll be interesting.

They will find a way to fuck it up.   They are one of the worst managed teams in the league.

Thunder need a win or need Minny or Denver to lose tonight.  Minny has the grizz and nuggets have the blazers.  If either team loses then the thunder are in a position where they can lose against miami tonight but they will need that same team to lose against the other when minny and denver square off to end the season.  That last game of the year could have implications for 3-5 teams on who gets in, not just where seeding happens.

This has been a great year for the NBA as a whole with the story lines and the play.  Absolutely a great year.

thunder/heat, blazers/nuggets and pelicans/clippers are all big playoff positioning battles tonight.

and the cavs, spurs, bucks and wolves all have games they should win to improve their playoff odds/positioning.

and then bulls/nets is a big tankapalooza positioning battle as well.

Westbrook has a triple-double with a minute left in the third. Let's see if he can get a win to go along with it.

Does it matter?  He already got the triple double.

i'd guess he's more concerned with his rebounding total.  he came into the night needing 34 over his last 2 games in order to average a triple double again.

He has 16 thus far, so he's on track.

Thunder are going to win this one. Impressive fourth quarter performance.

Memphis makes the Mavs look like world beaters.

A team with mostly 10 day contracts vs a team thatll likely sleep walk is a dangerous combo. Memphis is proving that keeping it within 10. these guys are playing for future jobs.

2 ridiculous halves. First half, thunder play no defense and they look awful except for the 3s they were hitting. Second half, thunder play D (especially in the 4th) and the lock down the heat and win by 20.

The thunder have great defense when they play it. Postseason is going to be fun.

Today I learned that Ben McLemore is still in the NBA.

Amazing how these lottery teams just fold around the same time each game.

I think the guys who have the worst deal in this whole tanking thing are the team announcers. They're required to attend and watch all the games featuring these purposely awful teams, and they can't even express openly that the losses are good for the team in the long run.

everyone is holding serve thus far tonight.

going to the 4th quarter in denver with the nuggets trailing the blazers by 3.

this poor saps been doing this for like 8 years, hes called a lot of losses while we can just turn it off.

Denver just fucked out of a possession call that was replayed with under a minute.  Wow.  Could end up costing them their season....

Cost them a point on the corresponding possession, but looks like Denver will survive by making their FT's.....

denver wins.  both they and the twolves are 46-35.  they play each other to end the season on wednesday...

looks like denver should hold on and live to fight another day.

One game playoff on Wednesday night if the Cans can beat the Clip joint tonight.....

Oh shit. I didn't realize they played each other. That will be awesome.

yeah that's the ideal scenario for a neutral observer.  pelicans win tonight to set up a winner take all game on the final night of the regular season.

I don't see the Pelicans losing 2 games in a row. Pop is probably going to rest everyone against New Orleans in that final game.

This is hysterical.

outside of San Antonio squeaking one out vs the Kings at home...the last few days have gone absolutely pear shaped. I guess those games where you lose to Chicago, Brooklyn, Atlanta, Orlando, Memphis etc come back to bite you

I'm liking the winner take all playoff game between Denver and Minnesota on Wednesday.

I kind of preferred Denver and Minny in the playoffs, but a play-in game is fine with me. Plus, playoffs Anthony Davis will be fun.

Then who were you advocating to miss the playoffs if all 3 of those teams made it???

I wanted Denver and Minnesota over New Orleans. Is there a scenario where all three make it?

One of those teams will be left out.

Yeah, I had that sentiment before it became one or the other. I didn't see New Orleans finishing this strongly.
