July 25, 20205 yr Looks like the cattle on the King Ranch need to go find shelter. I wonder if they will shut down the Border Patrol checkpoint at Sarita?

Certainly not the drenching rains that could have come, but we will see a few periods of rain around here. Bet is that measurable rain has to fall anywhere in TravCo associated with this storm (basically today through Sunday, I'll even toss out Monday because I'm such a nice guy)- that counts. I'm lubing up as we speak (and putting on my hazmat suit now). Edited July 25, 20205 yr by phdhorn
July 25, 20205 yr Hanna going apeshit on the coast right now, if it had another day it would probably landfall as a major.
July 25, 20205 yr Well, I guess I'll have to go water my plants. Pretty amazing to watch this thing ramp up like it did. Everyone stay safe, keep at least 6' away from any hurricanes.

July 25, 20205 yr I’m pretty impressed. 16 years of living in Port A and this is about as bad as I’ve seen (other than Harvey obviously). Center is way offshore and south of us but we are getting some pretty strong bands already. I bet it makes cat2 by landfall.

July 25, 20205 yr We are down in Port A for the weekend. Came down on Thursday before things started to get bad. Not too bad so far. Drove down to the marina about 30 min ago and the boat ramps are still accessible.
July 25, 20205 yr armstrong ranch going to get hammered, more cattle than people in that county look forward to dove and quail hunts out there. they usually get these rains the day before dove season opens

July 25, 20205 yr Water was way up against the dunes and took out some of the lower portions of the boardwalks, but no it’s nowhere near 11th or 12th. Marina parking lots around Virginia’s flooded pretty good but no real damage. Got a few more hours to go but looks like there’s almost no lasting damage from wind or water.
July 25, 20205 yr Winds are not too bad on my side of town. Kind of reminds of a strong cold front during he winter months. Based on the radar trends I expect the worse later this evening.
July 25, 20205 yr Keep us up to date. I'm tentatively headed down there on Monday (Sea Gull).Power went out about 2 hours ago. The ferry’s are still running. The water was up to the dunes, but from what I saw last it hasn’t gotten past that.
July 25, 20205 yr Landfall south Padre island. Just a hair under cat 2 Edited July 25, 20205 yr by Xian

July 25, 20205 yr Hope everyone is doing okay down there, bigger storm than what was expected, hoping it didnt catch many off-guard.
July 25, 20205 yr Still not a big deal in Port A where I’m at. Power came back on after a few hours and we are grilling fajitas in the wind!
July 26, 20205 yr Posted on the Port A thread, apparently Bob Hall Pier couldn’t take the length. The T at the end is gone.
July 26, 20205 yr Power went off again around 7:30 for us. Still off and a street a couple blocks away flooded pretty good, but seems to have receded now. Had a tornado warning, but mostly just a shit ton of wind and no rain.

Hopefully you weren’t still grilling when that last band came in. I’ve got good video but not enough internet to upload it yet.
July 26, 20205 yr Considering Port A is about 90 miles away from landfall, that was a pretty strong cat 1, at least around lunchtime and then late evening. Surprised me.
July 26, 20205 yr Lost power on NPI around midnight. Made through that whole damn day and that bitch whipped her ass end and fucked shit up on her way out.
July 26, 20205 yr Power still out in Port A. We just left and had no issues getting back to mainland via 361. Although we stopped at the first whataburger that had power and the line is onto the access road, but we need food before the kids start eating each other.
July 26, 20205 yr This was the last band that rolled through Port A late yesterday evening. 7A39F4D7-8658-436F-965D-535D3B6E28B5.MOV
July 26, 20205 yr Had our trampoline catapult our 8 foot cedar fence and end up in our front yard in McAllen. Also had a section of our driveway gate get blown out. Lucky that trampoline didn’t do any damage.

Most of the time they're falling apart by the time they even reach Hawaii. Douglas managed to hang on some how
July 26, 20205 yr My manhood being questioned since I don't have any desire to go to Port A for R&R tomorrow morning. So therefore, now I have to go.
July 29, 20205 yr So the relocation of the center southward makes a possible run at the gulf more likely?
