The term Gesamtkunstwerk is used to describe a complete work of art, a unified artistic vision that is a world into itself. It’s usually associated with the work of Richard Wagner, but this is a far superior example.

Nice volley there Cousin Shank.  I offer up this bit of coolness.  And a thought.  How much fucking fun do you think Bonnie Raitt was around this time.  Holy shit.  

 

Bonnie's "Green Light" is a really fucking great album.

Bill Kirchen's vocal on "Live From Deep In The Heart Of Texas" is probably the best-known version of this great Commander cut, but Larson's sweet sound is my favorite.

Nicolette was recording an album when she died.  Two friends of mine had written a song for her to record.  It was called "How You Gonna Wear Your Hat".  I'm still not sure I'm over her death.  What an amazing talent.  And over the years, she was married to an allstar band in Hank DeVito and Russ Kunkel and engaged to Andrew Gold.
