Do you guys realize that it’s possible to move to cooler weather?  Especially with work from home becoming more prevalent now.   Just have to adjust your “Texas is the best, by god” attitudes. Go spend a few years elsewhere. You can always come back.

Impossible. There’s nothing outside of Texas. It’s a void.

You know how much we would bitch about a seriously cold winter. Getting dark at 4pm.

A cool 72 in Denver

Maybe this will make some of you feel a little better.

When does that fairytale start?

my app says another week of 100s

Well, that's the prediction for this winter not this week.

Temperamental is code word for La Nina....that bitch who will make it warmer and drier in this region a lot of the time during the winter but then likes to occasionally go on her period and ass fuck you with icy cold weather and wintery precip.

It’s been snowing in South Beach since the late 70’s. Wait, what...

Today tied for the hottest low temperature on record for Houston. 83.  Galveston broke their record at 87.  According to the Space City Weather guys.

There is a cold front on the way next Tuesday that will put an end to the blast furnace for the year.

Getting dark at 4pm matches our drinking habits.

Big ol' swath of cold Canadian air riding in like the cavalry. Just gotta hope it doesn't stall out in the panhandle.

The other bonus is it makes reading this thread pretty fun.

Let's hope that Oklahoma is not sucking extra hard and keeping some of that cold air from getting down here.

I remember last year we kept hearing things were going to start cooling down around first of September.  It didn't happen until around mid October.

Every week it kept getting pushed back another week.  Same will happen this time.

Two weeks.  Our plan for cooler weather will be ready in two weeks.

I mean, once we have all the deaths from Sturgis and the TX/AZ/CA/FL mega spread two weeks from now, we won't have to worry about as many people breathing up all the air and using their air conditioners.  It has to cool down.

Here is the latest from the NWS.

It's a total crapshoot.

Over the last 100 years or so, the average fall date on which Houston first records a temperature reading in the 60's is right around September 16th. About maybe 30% of the time, it makes it into October. Over the previous 4 years, it has been 2 weeks late, a week and a half early, and nearly 4 weeks late.

A front arriving sometime middle of next week would be on the earlier side of usual but not unprecedented.

Let's just hope @Steel Shank doesn't drop another mixtape.

This is because of Super Typhoon Maysak going into South Korea in a few days and continuing to track north into China.  It causes the jet stream to buckle and bring cool air down our way.  If this had gone east of Japan, it's likely the front would have gone further east and missed us.

While we're broiling alive down here, the panhandle is already basically experiencing what we won't see until November.

Amarillo and Lubbock are already seeing lows in the low 60's this week and are expected to touch 50 or below if that front comes through next week.

That's some awesome butterfly effect shit there.

I say even after next Tuesday it gets to 100 degrees again before the end of October.

Well yeah, Weather.com is showing mid-September temperatures returning to 95...without any help from heat indexes.

"Five degrees above average" should be our new state slogan from May to October.

Well whatever we all did this morning, it worked.  Nice little rain coming down here in South Austin.  Been going consistent for about 15 minutes now.  Sweet.

Accuweather tells me 84 to 89 the next three days with a 60ish percent chance of rain too.

I want to believe.

Might have to get a fire in the fireplace going tomorrow.
