But I will say that Crenshaw is full of shit if he says he would have been this silent if Obama was pulling some of the same antics as Trump.

Imagine Obama doing any of a 100 outrageous things that Cheeto has done. The Rs would lose their minds.

How far back do you want to go? Imagine Hillary saying the "I like people who weren't captured" line. Or Obama in 08. Their careers would have ended that day.

trump is there on substance stuff.  like not sending the troops to the border to miss the holidays for a political stunt.  Or making sure that G.I. Bill tuition checks make it out on time.

I don't think Crenshaw can see the problem.

His Adam Schitt comment tells you exactly what is foremost in his mind.  I think it’s finally dawning on him what’s happening in January.

And he knows if he fires Mueller, Schiff and Co. will turn around and hire Mueller.

Schiff has got to be ecstatic over the anxiety Trump is displaying.

It’s eating Trump up that he has no influence over Schiff and can only call him names.

Trump is one of those small, small men who mistakenly believes that any apology is a sign of weakness.

Weak men think this way.

Got to give him credit, it is unacceptable. Of course I'm talking about his performance.

They’re no longer Republicans.  I know several like myself who have left the building.  I’ll vote against my wallet all day if it means keeping bigoted shitheads out of office.  Fuck anyone who still pulls the straight R lever in the voting booth.  Yeah, even your grandma.  Tough shit.

Jerry Brown's face when he says Pleasure. Involved in CA politics for almost 50 years, and he has to listen this jackass forget city names.

Watched a Bourdain rerun on CNN. It was the episode where he met Obama in Vietnam. Jesus Christ, I almost wept seeing an American president that was intelligent, rational, kind hearted, thoughtful, and oh, did I mention wasn’t a complete fucking cunt?

I hope the Ds don't have to nominate an equally assholish candidate just to beat Dotard. ^

I have no respect for veterans who support Trump.

Veterans are just people like anybody else, especially in this day of the all-volunteer army.

Some are dirt bags.  Most are good, normal people. But there's nothing inherently better about them b/c they chose to pursue a job option in the military.

No, there is.  They signed a document that said they could be sent to die in service of their country.  They, above all, should shame this POTUS.

Not really.  Only 1 in 5 will be assigned to a role that involves the prospect of combat.

The truth is that the enlisted men who serve in direct combat roles are typically the least educated of the bunch, and most (about 70%) are white...in other words,  Trump's base..., so it's really  not surprising that they support him.

That doesn't make them inherently better.

Correct.  There are many people who "put their lives on the line" for others as part of their job.  First responders, of course.  But how about the folks on power crews who go out even while the storm is still raging to try to keep power running to vital places?  Or hell, I was talking to some rather ordinary public officials, literally on the phone with me while the water was rising in their OWN homes, about what they could/should do to help folks in areas in peril during Hurricane Harvey.

Every one of them deserves to be treated with appropriate respect.  And when it comes to members of the armed forces, the most important respect we can show them is 1) don't send them to suffer in shitty circumstances for pointless political bullshit, 2) don't send them to die for pointless political bullshit, 3) keep our promises to them (GI Bill etc.), 4) follow through on medical care for any malady or injury incurred as part of their service (i.e., have a fully funded and high-functioning VA).  Oh, and when one of them does something particularly badass and above-and-beyond, we should damned well recognize it with decorations etc.  But we do NOT this creepy hero-worship of anyone who put on a uniform.  I appreciate their service, just like anyone else who signed up to do a job that serves me as a member of the public.  I should appreciate them no more or less than the folks who keep power up and running, who ensure that we have clean water, who put out fires, etc.

When you turn the military into heroes who cannot be questioned, then you've taken a dangerous path.  They have my gratitude.  And we the people made promises to them in exchange for their promise to protect and defend the Constitution.  We should keep our promises.

God it’s like President Derka.

Jesus....the accuracy of this comparison is frightening.

Although, to be honest, I've met Derka....this comparison is more than a little insulting to Derka.

Oh, and I am 100% on board with McRaven 2020.
