    Slocum’s Razor

I've enjoyed watching Dershowitz throw whatever reputation he had left down the shitter. What a pathetic and nefarious clown show performance the last couple of days.  A "prominent legal mind" that in reality is just a fame hungry old man who chooses to viciously defend a pathological liar. SAD!

Hillary would do the world a favor if she knocked over a fruit stand and turned herself in to authorities.

There’s always money in the banana stand.

It feels like we just rounded the top of the rollercoaster and things are going to start to accelerate quickly until whatever conclusion.

The WSJ article linked in that tweet is a solid read.

the worst thing the Democrats could do is trot out a far left socialist democrat. the best thing they could do is trot out someone who has great ideas and is beyond the left/right bullshit. someone like Beto.

I hope you realise that there is very little difference between Beto's and Bernie's platforms and their main platform ideas have around 60% public support.

Dems will fuck it up if they go with a milquetoast moderate.  It’s like the Republicans saying we need to play it safe with Jeb or Rubio.  You underestimate the latent rage on the left and Trump isn’t at halftime of his first term.

If there was ever a time to swing for the fences, it’s against Trump in 2020.  Regardless of the Dem candidate, If our country can’t come together and reject Trump in 2020, we don’t deserve to govern ourselves.

The Dem candidate needs to energize more participation in democracy, not less.  A Kasich dem nominee would be a huge wasted opportunity IMO.

Just get a candidate with some experience, good ideas, and energy that isn’t a complete fraud.

That will work if Trump runs again. If it’s a Kasich type on the R ticket the D’s would be stupid to go far left.  Just an opinion, but the R’s will organize to shit all over Trump when the time comes.  They’re good at political games.  Too good.

I thought America wasn’t the dumping ground for other people’s problems in their shit hole countries and they need to stay and fix it themselves?

I was thinking that earlier. For what seems like forever, we’ve been talking about how the moment will come. I think it’s approaching quickly. Hang on to your butts.

Who’s starting the 500 game threads this year?

Trump's South Africa tweet was a dog whistle to the alt-right/white nationalists.  When things get shitty, these are the people Cheeto leans on.

It pretty much looks like his whole thing is really "Whites in America first".

Yep. This idea of holding up republican light is fucking retarded.

Well, that's not what I said, but whatever.  I would have used the word "milquetoast" if I had thought that an important characteristic.

It is SO not the time to "swing for the fences".  Yeesh.

My simplistic definition of trolling is malicious disingenuousness.

Additionally, you are confusing ideology with identity politics in this conversation.

The people calling for an electable “centrist/moderate” are really saying “white guy” so we don’t alienate people turned of by a colored or woman.

It’s horseshit.

Oh, fuck you.  Seriously.  Fuck you.  I did no such thing and think nothing of the sort.

Wasn’t singling you out.  Apologies if it came off that way.  My word choice could have been better. Not everyone calling for a “centrist” is looking for a white guy, but some certainly are.

Centrist politician=bought and paid for by billionaires and corporations.

While her politics don't completely align with what I stated, I've already gone on record as being in almost complete support of Elizabeth Warren.  I just think she's too old and too damaged ("Pocahontas", etc.) to capture any of the votes that might otherwise go to the R candidate but are not wanting to vote for Trump.  From a personal and intellectual perspective, I really like Kamala Harris, but it's sometimes hard to get a read on specific issues with her.  She is very good at maneuvering among a wide swath of ideologies (and yes, they still exist, even if the current dim light of Washington DC would lead some to believe otherwise).

Respectfully disagree.

When would be the time to swing for the fences?

Obama was a swing for the fences at the time and we did good, not great under his leadership.

Seems like the time to make some real positive change is long overdue.

There is no need to pander to the Trump voters or what is left of moderate republicans.

That’s what I mean by swing for the fences.

Glad he was up at midnight telling us this.

Maybe he was muttering that to himself as he drifted off to sleep and seguing  into his nightmare where Peter, Bobby and Greg are pirates making him walk the plank.

I don't think Obama was an example of "swinging for the fences" at all, with the single exception of his skin color.
