Hey kids, I’m old enough to remember when “campaigner in chief” was used as a derogatory term. Y’all remember that?

Just a reminder that Melania was a vocal birther.

i'd bet melania didn't always have resting bitch face. when your parents used to tell you your face will stick like that, it was always kind of true. she's spent a lot of time frowning.

yeah, i'm watching ye go crazy here on cnn in the background. it's surreal.

What you have to remember is Beyoncé had the greatest video of all time.

My God, this is unbelievable.

Fucking morons who think they're geniuses.

Now wait. She said she 'could say' that. She never said she actually was the most bullied.

that was...a little weird.

It’s refreshing to see an incoherent rant in the Oval Office not coming from the President.

Kanye 2024. 😂

What about Kanye for U.N. ambassador ?

This media distraction ranks as one of the most bizarre.  All the shit going on right now and it’s a power lunch with Kanye, Jim Brown, and Kid Rock.

But Fox News told me celebs were supposed to stay out of politics. I'm confused.

Also. Wrong.  Earl Campbell is the GOAT.

The Trump house of mirrors is going to get smashed from all sides.  Tax evasion, fraud, and self dealing among other criminality from Trump Foundation, god knows what all with Trump Organization, and potentially up to $400M worth of tax fraud and liability for all the cash Trump's dad, Fred, illegally funneled to his kids.

What ties all that together?  Allen Weisselberg, who was recently granted immunity by NY State prosecutors. (WaPo)

Weisselberg's loyal service spans three generations of Trumps:

"Weisselberg, now 70, got his start in the family business by working as an accountant for Trump’s father, real estate magnate Fred Trump, in the 1970s.

In 2000, he was named chief financial officer of the company. But his role is greater than that: Weisselberg has been at the center of a financial operation that covered all parts of Trump’s life, including his corporation’s finances, his personal accounts and his personal charity."

and

"Over the decades, Weisselberg rose from serving as an accountant to the keeper of Trump’s personal books. After Trump’s election, he was appointed to help run the trust that controls the president’s assets, along with two of the president’s sons, Donald Trump Jr., a fellow trustee, and Eric Trump, chairman of the trust’s advisory board.

“He was really the guy in charge of the money, and that’s always a position of honor,” said one person close to the Trump Organization who spoke on the condition of anonymity to describe the company’s internal dynamics."

The article goes on to say that Weisselberg's immunity may only relate to questions around the Stormy payout, but he's handled the family money flow for decades dating back to Fred Trump fraudulently sifting many hundreds of millions from his empire down to his kids.

The NYT published a massively long article the other week detailing the complex family tax evasion schemes and reprinted it yesterday in the Sunday Times.  Again, there are multiple tunnels into the fort that lead to Donald and his sister (a federal judge), Don Jr, and Eric.  The Times article lays out the grounds for  the likelihood Weisselberg is going to get hotboxed around the Fred Trump <--> Donald $400M NY State liability.  Meanwhile, Micheal Cohen has pleaded guilty to committing a felony at Trump's order and may very well be SOL in getting any kind of favorable treatment moving forward.

The odds are getting better and better that Trump enters the big house as he leaves the white house.

Whether intentional or not, this Kanye presser was one of the greatest trolls of all time.

No one with half a brain would act like him, and it's that act that endears him to that 1/3rd of the populace. Trump's political instincts are married to his complete lack of knowledge and shame.

The majority of that 1/3rd of the population view Democrats and establishment Republicans as "the man" that's been keeping them down.  They like Trump for the same reason they liked Stone Cold Steve Austin -- he provides a proxy through which they can vicariously fight back against the politician, the boss, the bitch ex-wife who has makes their life shitty.

There is a tiny minority of that 1/3rd that are economic elites that care about only their own wealth and preserving the existing structure where their position of power is assured.  Ironically, it is they that have made the decisions to automate away our outsource the jobs that used to keep that majority of the 1/3rd in the middle class.  Those economic elites have crafted a very effective whitesploitation campaign to manipulate under-educated, lower-class white people to their own ends.  And that's why the GOP is happy to stay in bed with Trump.  He is showing them exactly how to preserve their relevance against the inexorable shift toward a white-voter minority in this country.

How much do you think you’d have to earn to benefit $2k from the tax cut?

I’m estimating over $3K in tax savings due to Trump and Republicans. I’d assume probably need to earn at least $100k to see any tax savings.

Springsteen plays Obama rallies. “Celebrity president! Bad!”
Trump brings Kardashians, Kanye, and Kid Rock to the Oval Office. “No problem!”.

Adelson is actually all of the things that Republicans claim George Soros is.

With a side of Koch.

Oh? How, exactly?

Kanye is really fucking dumb.  I think he has this idea in his head that he's being transgressive (and transgressive = brilliant for him), but because he doesn't read and has very little understanding of our history and how our society currently works, he doesn't realize that it's a trangressiveness in the service of power.

Also, is Kanye the first mainstream hotep celebrity?
