It makes the women in my life uncomfortable and concerned, if that makes me a bigot, then so be it.
It makes your whole family bigots, because it's a completely unfounded fear. It's unfortunate you've passed it on to another generation.

You mean how your president thinks he's rich, successful, and well liked?

That’s where we differ then I suppose, I believe it to be a rational fear.

I’m a bigot because my wife and daughter would like to go to the restroom without a man present?

what do you think goes on in women's bathrooms?

If you walked into a women's bathroom what would you see?

Fear of what?

Oh look, the fucking troll is trolling again.

Hey Chrispy, a guy can walk into a lady’s restroom anytime right now and rape your wife and daughter.

They should probably avoid using public restrooms all together.

I have a pretty good idea of what goes on, but I try not to picture it.

It could happen, sure, but the goal is to minimize those chances. Sending my daughter into a restroom with a man would be poor parenting.

If the data is correct, you should avoid sending your daughter anywhere a man might be.

Especially around those that may be mentally ill.

How many penises have you had a gander at in the men's restroom?

Quite a few, have you never played swords?

Going beyond the transgender conversation is the fact that so many people live in fear. Transgender persons, illegal immigrants, terrorists... the list is endless. I really don't get it. Life is just to fucking short to live everyday looking over your shoulder and expecting the worst. I'm not naive, i know there are bad people and bad things do happen, but living in fear is no way to go through life.

The person on the bottom isn’t a male.

The person on the bottom was born with a vagina, and you are trying to legally force him into the bathroom with your daughter.

Well, yeah, it’s a woman.

No you just refuse to accept the facts as established by the trained professionals whose job it is to study these things. I’m so shocked though that you ignore experts in favor of your own bigotry.

That’s because you’re an irrational bigoted douchebag

Chrispy wants a person that looks like a really fit dude to share a bathroom with his daughter. Classic.

You know what?  I'm afraid of racists.  They have a well-documented history of violence.  The same goes for right wing Christians.  Both of those groups have a much more violent history than transsexuals.

So I don't think I should have to use the bathroom with racists and/or right wing Christians.  I just wouldn't feel safe.  Actually, I don't think those groups of people should be allowed in public at all.

See how stupid this is?  And my mock position is actually easier to support with evidence than your real one.

If anything happened in the restroom you wouldn't believe her anyway. Remember it's a scary time for men right now.

Fear of the other gets out the vote so Trump and the GOP fan the flames. This has been the case for a long time now. Gay marriage, seculars, WMDs, muslims, immigrants, socialists, transgender, George Soros, the Deep State, antifa...are interchangeable.

You’re not spouting facts, just emotion. Transgender women aren’t actually female, I’m sorry that offends you.

Raising your daughter to be afraid of everyone who is different is poor parenting.

I want her to share bathrooms with actual females, this isn’t difficult.

And their concern is unfounded. Sorry, but it’s ok to grow a pair and tell them so.

Chrispy troll has derailed the trump thread again. I realize some of you have a no neg in the cloak room policy but this is a result of that.

No I’m just stating what the World Heath Organization says. But what do those doctors know anyway.

You simple stating your inaccurate opinion doesn’t refute the facts

Don't tell Christy that his wife and daughter have probably shared a restroom with a lesbian. Managed to avoid the rape tho. He's probably shared a restroom with a gay man and managed to not get raped either.

Chrispy's full of shit regarding the trans man on the previous page.  If he were to come out of a woman's restroom and Chrispy was standing outside waiting for his daughter, he'd absolutely throw a fit about a man being in the woman's restroom. Trans people have been around for ages and this bathroom nonsense only started when Republicans decided to invent a problem to rile up their base that previously didn't exist.

Hey Chrispy since female bathroom talk isn’t going away in your house could you please make sure you tell them - and have them tell their friends - to clean off the toilet seat when they pee? The seat splatter in women’s restrooms makes men’s restrooms look like sterile hospital rooms. It’s disgusting.

That’s crazy; would have never guessed that.

My daughter had her first encounter with trans life this past weekend when we were in an...interesting...part of the city and the clerk at the CVS had nails and makeup and long hair and a five day stubble beard worse than my own. Point being, kids are going to be encountering in real life and having words in their vocabulary that we didn’t have until adulthood.

Which is great.  They’ll grow up to be better people.

They state what exactly?

I guess. Reminds me of the “my generation” thread in the other forum. Just different times and how dynamic human beings are and the cultures and society’s we build and how we come together and then move, like a huge school of fish.

How did she react? My guess is she couldn't care less.  More importantly, how did you react? If you treated the clerk like, i don't know, a human being she probably did the same and left the encounter unscathed. On the other hand if you made sure she understood that, as Crispy would say, this is a mentally ill person thay should be feared, she was probably pretty traumatized. I'm guessing you took the former approach and your daughter is better for it.

They state it’s a sexual health issue not a mental illness. I know facts are tough for you but this one is pretty easy

She laughed about it (have y’all see The greatest show movie with hugh Jackman? There is a bearded lady that kids either think is a) scary or b) hilarious) and asked what the deal was with that. We were kind and polite and that was it and went on about our life and day as I’m sure she (the clerk) did as well.
