Rewatching this. On season 1 ep 7 what a great show. Didn’t see a thread thought I’d start one. Love jimmy

I liked the show but it was so up and down and the story was all over the place. Wish they had explored the Chicago connection more. Capone was greatness in that series.

I enjoyed it, but you're right. It was uneven and many plot holes. It had the chance to be great, and wound up just being good.

I am actually watching this for the first time right now. Currently on s3 ep5.

Capone was greatness

This series introduced me to the greatness of Michael Shannon and Stephen Graham. I'd seen them both before but they really stole every scene they were in here.

And there’s the rub. Steve Buscemi isn’t a leading man. Great character/supporting actor. So Terrance Winter had to throw shit at the wall until something worked.

Chicago/Stephen Graham worked great, but they couldn’t abandon Nucky’s story as the central character.

The show never completely worked, and that’s OK.
