May 28, 20214 yr Tough loss. Oh well, we'll take the team tennis title over the doubles title any day of the week
May 29, 20214 yr Peyton gave an excellent interview right after the QFs. Talked about her pre college experiences (wished she could have gone to high school), what improvements she has made to her game, Joffe helping her mental games, favorite Austin restaurants... Even if she turns pro, I think Texas is in good hands. Additionally, the Big 12 Player of the Year from OK State is transferring. One of Iowa State's player is doing an inter conference transfer to WVU. And Baylor is also losing a player to the transfer portal.
May 30, 20214 yr WVU needs bodies to fill a roster at this point. I would be surprised if anyone on scholarship from UT transfers, however if Tijana wants to play another year of college tennis, just about any program would be happy to add her to their team as a grad transfer.
June 8, 20214 yr It's been less than one month but some impressive results on the summer circuit- Kylie beat Montserrat Gonzalez (former top 200 player) Lulu beat Whitney Osuigwe (formerly ranked 105, still ranked in the 200s) Charlotte beat two former All Americans, Shapatava (former top 200) and the number one recruit in this year's class. Some of these opponents haven't had impressive results recently; it's still a feat to beat these pro players who have made Grand Slam Main Draws before If these results get TOO impressive, then Texas may be at risk for half the team turning pro early lol
June 8, 20214 yr Also former player Sarah Lancaster is doing track as an amateur and has qualified for the Olympic Trials! https://www.runnersworld.com/runners-stories/a36622021/sarah-lancaster-olympic-track-trials/ Lancaster was your essential player at the bottom of the lineup. I remember her being a backboard when she played.

June 16, 20214 yr ITA tournament bracket has been released. We'll take on FAU on January 28th, 2022 in the first round followed by Rice or SMU. Yes, we are the #1 overall seed https://www.slam.tennis/ita/draft/2022/ncaaw/bracket#team Edited June 16, 20214 yr by perfectchaos007
July 4, 20214 yr Lulu fell a bit short today in the finals of the 25K in Spain. Lost to her former compatriot Masarova (former number 2 junior in the world). Here's Lulu's semifinal match against Lazaro (two time All American when she played in the NCAAs). Lulu beat her convincingly 2 and 2.
August 2, 20214 yr Another big win for Lulu today over a top 200 opponent in dominating fashion Edited August 2, 20214 yr by perfectchaos007
August 3, 20214 yr Seems like a very good addition but I would think this also suggests that some players are turning pro. Feels like it would take a miracle for either Stearns or Sun to return.
August 8, 20214 yr 6-2, 6-7(4), 3-6 should not take almost 4 hours. No clue if weather or something else was included in that duration.
August 23, 20214 yr Turati won the tournament in Austria 2021-2022 schedule is out! Judging by the fact that there's so many pro tournaments on the schedule in the fall, my guess is that Peyton and Lulu will come back for at least the fall semester and then determine after that whether or not to go pro
September 4, 20214 yr Hook 'em! Roster is out and Lulu is not on it. But she is in the picture and signed up to play the ITF tournament in Fort Worth later this month. Labrana is also on the roster despite being honored at senior day last spring.
October 5, 20214 yr Stearns def. former US Open semi-finalist Coco Vandeweghe in straight sets today in Indian Wells qualifying. One more win will get her in the main draw
October 28, 20214 yr 1st round update from the Austin Open pro tournament: Chavatipon defeated her lucky loser opponent in straight sets Kylie Collins also got a straight set win M. Zamarripa lost in 3 sets former Longhorn Lulu Sun def. the #4 seed in 3 sets
October 28, 20214 yr Austin open update: Kylie Collins won her match in 3 sets Chavatipon dropped her match in straights. Former Longhorn Lulu Sun won in 3 sets Kylie Collins and Lulu unfortunately will play each other in the next round Edited October 28, 20214 yr by perfectchaos007
October 29, 20214 yr And Collins wins it against Texas-Ex Lulu Sun in straight sets! She moves onto the semi finals
