Had a small kale salad a little after noon today having not had any kind of salad for weeks.  At 2pm, had instant diarrhea with undigested green kale floating everywhere.  That shit shot through 25 feet of intestine in under 2 hours.

1 -- kale is absolutely a blowout producer

2 -- several years ago, before it became a trendy "edible" green, do you know who the largest purchaser of kale was, nationwide?  Got any guesses? .....

......

......

Pizza Hut.  Why?  Think of their salad bar - plastic bins of salad fixings stuck into a bin of ice.  How did they cover up all of that ice?  They laid leaves of kale over all of it.

3 -- a couple of years ago, I was on a flight next to a lady who was somehow involved in food marketing/planning for a major grocery chain.  I asked her what trend that was big now was due to die.  She didn't hesitate -- "Kale."  I think she was wrong, though.  That was a coupla years ago, and it's still going strong.

Just eat raw spinach. Same nutritional benefit and actually chewable/doesnt taste like shit. Do enjoy kale in some soups though.

cook kale with lots of olive oil that way it will slide easily out of the skillet into the trash.

Yep.  If I'm eating it raw, give me spinach  I really like cooked kale, though.

roasted kale isn't bad.  And it's ok in a salad if you add a bunch of other flavorful shit to it.  But raw on its own is pretty awful.  Believe it or not it is pretty popular out here.

The Kale Caesar Salad at UT owned Dish Society is pretty solid. I've haven't liked it in or on anything else. I don't understand the fade to put kale in every smoothie/pressed juice/protein shake.

The health food/smoothie joint in my office has a kale, banana, and strawberry smoothie on their menu. But, why?!

Kale is like the medications the olds take, all this talk of how good it is for you, then real quickly, "causes diarrhea,  blindness, see a doctor if sharts persist"

I've tried "kale chips" and lol, no thank you

the kale and cranberry salad in the deli case and salad bars at Whole Foods is awesome.

Why would anyone not believe that?

Damn, glad to have read this.  After fighting diarrhea off and on for just over a month I'm avoiding anything that might be "irritating"?

...well, avoid Cloak Room.

I’ve cooked kale just like I would collard/turnip/mustard greens and it’s equally delicious.

my mom fed us kale growing up in the 80s and 90s.  way before it was cool.  it’s healthy stuff, probably why I turned out so well.

This pizza place near me does a top notch 5 cheese and kale pizza. It’s the only way I’ll eat it

I'm a fan.  Cooked or not.  Love that it never gets soggy in a salad.

Chick I used to work with would make kale chips that were great.

Wheat germ and lemon grass futures followed the demand curve and are now too costly to blend up in smoothies. Kale and Chia seeds are the future my man.

DR. MORLEY: If you took out father's intestine and lay it out in a straight line, it would go all the way around the Earth.

HANK: Now, how could that be? The Earth is 25,000 miles around. A piece of steak would have to shoot through your intestines at the speed of sound. That's impossible.

tuscan kale salad has been on our menu the last few weeks.

Delicious.

Chopped kale, minced garlic, olive oil, lemon juice, pecorino, red pepper flakes...toasted croutons.

You should stop buying salads from door to door salesmen.

Y'all are killin it

Y'all are killin it

Kaling it*

I really only like it in a smoothie as it mixes with the other stuff and I don’t even taste it. Two big leaves of it and a handful of spinach with other stuff.

I actually do appreciate the bitterness in smoothies as I'm not a big fan of sweet generally.

Shit rocks as a substitute when the collards look a bit yellow.

Who am I kidding,  I was destroying a  kale salad at Chopt at least once a week.  Daddy needs to keep it tight for K street pitches
