They are fantastic dried out and ground into pepper flakes/dust.

I carry crushed, dried habaneros, rated from 100,000 to 350,000 on the Scoville scale. Pequins rate 30,000 to 60,000. And I think habaneros taste better. It’s not that pequins are bad, they’re just not that hot. They’re in the cayenne range. I like  cayenne too. But if you think pequins are hot then you have a pretty low tolerance for heat.

Goddamn, whatthebuck is one annoying, thread-derailing, motherfucker with Ohio small pecker syndrome. If we actually wanted critiques of texas with an Ohio slant, we'd be on shitthole boards devoted to your shithole state. But we're not, so STFU.

Grow a pair. If you can show me an example of where I’m the one who starts taking bullshit, go for it.

No, in his European Carry-All.

I don't give a fuck who starts it. We don't need some smooth-brained loser from Ohio derailing threads about Matt Gaetz because he has passionate beliefs that Texans dont know shit about peppers. Go to bucknuts and jerk yourself into a frenzy talking shit about texas, but how about you give it a rest here.

Lol, I get your general sentiment WhatTheBuck, but maybe this isn’t the thread to bust Texas myths.

Ha ha! A Cincinnati chili slam! Brilliant! How original.

What’s your definition of pie? (Not counting South Austin’s mom.) Should it have a crust? (Also not counting South Austin’s mom.)

I’d say that any form of pasta can be topped with a wide variety of sauces, including a wide variety of meats, and a wide variety of spices. or maybe strictly vegetarian like as simple as olive oil and garlic, maybe a little fresh basil and/or oregano. But you throw the word “chili” in there and your average Texan is going to go nuts because they’ve been taught to conform to certain thoughts and ideas. Like how they’re supposed to love guns. And what words like “barbecue” and “chili” are supposed to mean. It must be tough.

I’m not the one derailing the thread but I can give as good as I can get.

I know. But you’d be surprised how often I force myself to hold my tongue.

It's definitely the Monday before a major holiday.

Y'all stay safe out there.

WhattheBuck is good people on here.  I don't know about real life, where we're all probably incredibly boring.

But yeah dude, the Ohio contributions to American cuisine are what exactly?

To try to get thread back on track but still tied to local cuisine (for once, I wasn't the de-railer).....when the Gaetz witness testimony comes out to the public...I'll venmo $50 to anyone who can correctly guess beforehand...what meal did Gaetz promise the underage girl they would feast on upon arrival in the Bahamas?  And you can't guess fresh caught lobster, too obvious.

Bucknuts used to be a good site back when they were independent. I’ve been on Bucknuts before. They’ve gone through an evolution just like a lot of sports fan message boards. Now they’re on the 247sports network which totally sucks. I still have a membership there. I’ve been on a variety of Buckeye message boards including the Rivals board which is now empty and the Scout board which has now been absorbed by 24/7. And the-ozone. And BuckeyePlanet (I’m not foolish enough to use my same handle there as here unlike ORD). My 247sports handle is actually my handle from the Michigan State tRCMB which I joined shortly before they joined 24/7 and, after they consumed Scout.com, I was given a choice which one I wanted to keep. No, I’m not going to tell you what it is.

I’ve also posted on a lot of other fans’ message boards, and seen a lot of other fans post on OSU message boards. Never once have I ever thought that opposing fans posting on a Buckeye board was some kind of a violation. Unless they were obvious trolls. I don’t think anyone who has paid attention to my body of work here can accuse me of being a troll. If I say something that’s not true, call me out on it. If you’re right, I’ll admit I was wrong. And I’m not one who generally engages in trash talk.

But sorry for derailing the thread. Because that NEVER happens around here.

You might be surprised to know that the last glacial period provided the Great Lakes region with some really fertile soil. And great fresh water lakes, rivers, and streams. Jesus, the arrogance. Put down your ketchup sandwich for a minute and get over yourself. There’s good food everywhere. And if your attitude is, ‘Nope! Don’t want to hear about it!’ then that’s on you.

No snapper?

Pequin has something else beyond its Scoville ranking. I popped a tiny little raw one a while back thinking it wouldn't be much because I sort of knew where it was supposed to tank and that little fucker punched way beyond its weight class. The burning sensation faded kind of fast, too. It was an odd experience.

This entire board is a derailment.

You mean this isn't the thread where we pound our chest because we chug pints of pureed ghost peppers or whatever?

I know The Colonel character was a pedophile. I didn't think Philip Baker Hall's character was. Hall is the one with the butter/lollipop line.

I will share an award winning harissa recipe with whoever gets Gaetz' confession on tape.

I'm born and raised on the great lakes dude and I don't like ketchup.  I've visited Ohio many, many times.  A couple times even with a few bucks to spend, and I've never had a memorable meal there.  Not once.  Even went to that famous Columbus steakhouse on a friend's rec-and it was good but no better than a mid-levle chain like Texas Land & Cattle.

Also, Matt Gaetz molests children.

I've had some good pierogis in Cleveland.  That's all I got.

Regardless of whether you spell it “chili” or “chile,” do you know who gave them the name “peppers?” Do you know when and where he first encountered them? Not Texas.

Petin or pequin, or chiletepin. Multiplied by the chile chili, chilie shit. So irritating.

By “he” I assume you mean Christopher C? He in search of a shorter path to the East (with its spce trade?) I’d assume (based on how delicious chiles are) somewhere close to where he landed. Bahama. But, no, that’s not a story i know.

Capsicum dates back in archaeological evidence to about 6,000 years ago in the Andes. Not that it matters a damn; it for fucking sure wasn't Ohio, and Matt Gaetz fucks children.

Not so much at DKR.

Matt Gaetz:  "Yeah, sounds bad on paper.  But a 90 day delay means my girlfriend gets that  much older.  Alright, alright, alright."
